I’ve never felt so hungry as this week. All the food noise is back (FUCKING LOUDLY) and I could eat every fucking thing in sight! Weird after all these weeks of having suppression this happens?! I’m on 10mg now out of interest ……
Im getting close to my target weight so it doesn’t really bother me but I wonder why so different this week?!

There is an article I've read about weight plateaus and how your body wants to be back at a certain weight (until time passes and it resets to a new level). Your hunger hormone increases to encourage this. Sounds like this might be happening to you?

You could increase your dose until you reach target weight?

Higglepigglewiggle · 10/05/2025 18:36

How funny I am EXACTLY the same! Just moved to 10mg and was wondering if I got a duff batch.
no way near my target though

ChloeCannotCanCan · 10/05/2025 18:38

I hear you - I’m on month 6 and I’ve started to feel the food noise again suddenly! I’ve lost 4 stone and have another 2 to go and the weight loss has slowed a bit this last 3 weeks 😬

I’ve decided to up my dose from 5mg to 7.5mg and hope it dampens down the noise and me and my willpower can do the rest.

Gettingbysomehow · 10/05/2025 18:46

How odd I've been better than ever on 10mg.

zerofucksgivenever · 10/05/2025 19:07

It’s odd as the last couple of weeks on the same pen have been “good”

i’m on 10mg and have found the same. Done two pens now on 10 so I might move up to the next dose.

boldasgolden · 10/05/2025 19:35

I went from 7.5mg to 10mg and I found myself SO hungry on 10mg but not as hungry on 7.5! Which seems to make no sense 🥲🥲

hopspot · 10/05/2025 19:40

I’ve found the same at 6 months. I’m focusing on it being a useful change in that it helps my body cope with cravings and hunger that I’ll need to get back used to when I try and maintain my weight.

Devilmentpleassure · 10/05/2025 19:42

My big concern with trying these drugs is what happens when you stop.

The same thing that happens when you stop any diet

You don't have to stop. Many people will stay on them for maintaining their weight.

And what about the ongoing muscle loss if people keep on them for life?

The heart is a muscle!

Nice to have concern, but how is this relevant?

MsSquiz · 11/05/2025 12:16

I have just had my last 10mg injection and I have felt the same! Unbelievably hungry, eating things I wouldn’t usually eat. Hoping 12.5mg has better results.
id lost 2st 8lb until I started on 10mg, I’ve now put on 2lbs this month

The heart is a muscle!

Once you get to a healthy weight, then you maintain, rather than keep losing. Muscle loss happens with ALL weight loss methods, it's caused by losing weight not the medication.

Lifeisapeach · 11/05/2025 12:26

I found the same at 10mg and at 12.5mg! I think the body just gets used to medication over time. My losses have slowed but I’m still on track to target.

🤣
Away you go
Cardiac muscle is different from skeletal muscle (& smooth muscle is different again). The drug doesn't cause skeletal muscle loss the calorie restriction required for weight loss can cause skeletal muscle loss if your body doesn't think you need those muscles. So long as you use the muscles your body will preserve them if it can.

You might be interested to know Wegovy/Ozempic is the first GLP-1 that has been approved by the MHRA as a long term preventative treatment for those with existing cardiovascular disease as it has been shown to lower the risk of cardiovascular events, such as cardiovascular death, heart attack and stroke.

Although it can vary, they generally have positive effects on the heart muscle.

The injections are treating obesity, which is also a serious life limiting disease, the benefits of the injections far outweigh the risks.

Hope that alleviates your concerns for those having GLP1 treatments for obesity, there is lots of information online on the benefits of this medical treatment if you are genuinely interested.
