You need to eat regularly and drink loads of water.

eat protein, salad, green veg and avoid carbs and fatty food.

sweetpickle2 · 10/05/2025 15:08

How did you get it with a BMI of 28 OP, do you have a weight related health issue?

Theres an entire weight loss injection board if you need more help or support.

hey @Poppyseed14could you tolerate the initial 2.5 mg or did you need to start lower. Just about to get going but I’m worried about the side effects and would really like to start lower and slow if possible.. it’s a share that the regular protocol doesn’t enable this! I could be fine on the 2.5mg so should probs just see how it goes but I have two smallies running around too 😵‍💫🥴

I honestly can't remember as I've been on it for well over a year but I was really really nauseous. To be safe maybe try half or three quarters of the dose and see how you feel. I've lost over 4 stone with it and I'm now a normal BMI and into the 10 stone bracket so I'm pleased I persevered with it. Good luck! X

Catty123Ma · 10/05/2025 15:58

Thank you!! Will do.. have about 10-15kg to shift that I can’t do my self.. so not too much in the grand scheme of things. That’s a good idea.. I’ll see how it goes. If I done half or 3/4 would the rest just be wasted? Which is fine i suppose if it’s having the right effect and side effects are low

FunMustard · 10/05/2025 15:58

How do you manage to have both health anxiety but also managed to somehow swing getting a drug used for weight loss?

But yes, it is normal, it'll be because you're barely eating and drinking.

Passion01 · 12/05/2025 12:46

@FunMustard I think its important to be kind on these forums, no need for judgement when people are already feeling vulnerable. Also it's not exactly hard to get this drug from online pharmacies that want people's money. I doubt I'm the only one taking it who doesn't have a BMI of over 30...

OP posts:
sweetpickle2 · 12/05/2025 13:42

So you lied to get it, you're not eligible?

That is incredibly irresponsible behaviour OP, really disappointing.

Passion01 · 12/05/2025 16:49

@sweetpickle2 I'm sure you'll get over it 🙄

OP posts:
WitchesofPainswick · 12/05/2025 16:51

I take half a dose and that works for me (1.25mg/30 clicks).

JohnTheRevelator · 12/05/2025 17:06

I was using Wegovy up until recently, started beginning of September last year, and for the first 2 months I felt slightly nauseous for a lot of the time, even on the lowest starting dose (0.5 mg). Thankfully it wasn't debilitating, just unpleasant. I found that taking a travel sickness tablet helped (I used Kwells as they shouldn't cause drowsiness). After a couple of months when I was on the 1 mg dose, the nausea went off. To be replaced by the eggy, sulphurous burping 😂 But then I'd rather have that than feeling sick! I've read that Mounjaro is stronger than Wegovy so I don't know if the side effects are worse?

Well seeing as you came on here to ask if your nausea is normal and if it will ever go away- nobody can tell you that because you're abusing medication.

Passion01 · 12/05/2025 17:16

@sweetpickle2 I am currently very over weight and not sitting here a bmi of 22 which alot of people who use it currently are, so please come down off your high horse...

I'm not on my high horse. The threshold is a BMI of over 30 (or over 27 with weight-related issues), you have lied to get medication. Those are facts.

But if you're happy to abuse medication then good luck to you.

Passion01 · 12/05/2025 17:33

@sweetpickle2 Well the facts also are you have no idea of my current situation or health profile so I would encourage you to be less judgemental as its hardly helpful...that only person who is abusing anything is you, another person.

Zov · 12/05/2025 18:00

You are not 'very overweight' with a BMI of 28 @Passion01 You came on here asking questions about weight loss injections and why they're making you feel nauseous, and people are telling you that it may be because you don't need weight loss injections - because you're not fat. You're not helping yourself by being salty and rude because people are saying things you don't want to hear.

Seriously, some law needs putting in place to stop people getting these injections when they are not fat ...

Passion01 · 12/05/2025 18:11

@Zov at 28 bmi I am deemed over weight, it's not your decision to judge who is fat and who isn't. I haven't been nauseous because I'm too thin (totally ridiculous statement) it's because my body is getting used to medication and I was looking advice for people who have gone through something similar. Not unsolicited advice from judgemental unhelpful people like yourself...and I was only returning 'salty' comments back

Zov · 12/05/2025 18:19

But someone with a BMI of 28 really should not be having weight loss injections @Passion01 In the vast majority of cases, you will not be given them via the NHS unless your BMI is over 30.

IMO, they should not be allowed to be purchased privately, and no-one with a BMI of 28 (or anything under 30,) should be taking weight loss injections.

I did for my first dose too, have you been on 1.25mg for long?

Bigfatsunandclouds · 12/05/2025 18:47

For what it's worth OP, I think they should be available for anyone who wants it in the overweight category and I imagine they will eventually. Keep hydrated and make sure you eat something even if it's just apples as that will help!

Catty123Ma · 12/05/2025 21:00

@Caddycat@WitchesofPainswickwhat are you doing with the remainder of your pens.. are you maxing at 6 weeks and just reordering?

Roundbale · 12/05/2025 21:12

Definitely in the beginning I had to mind the fat intake

Crikeyalmighty · 12/05/2025 23:53

Whilst I don’t agree with the OP going down this route at 28BMI , it’s bit hypocritical of some to be getting uppity when all the threads are full of people now at 24/25/26 talking about how to get their maintenance doses in all honesty - the fact is they are no longer over 30 - so maybe they shouldn’t be getting it either- as things stand unless there is a medical reason - just saying !

That is different though, as that individual will have been on the drug for however long and their body will be used to it. The fact is we don’t yet know the effects of starting to take the drug on a BMI of less than the criteria because that is what has been medically approved.

How do you know the OP isn’t of Asian descent - the threshold is 27 in that case.

OP mounjaro is more of a dietary supplement more than a magic bullet - you still need to eat healthily alongside it. If you are not eating properly that will be exacerbating the side effects. Some people are just more sensitive however. I have never needed to go above 2.5 for the food noise and appetite suppression to be helpful and others need to go up to the full 15mg dose. Maybe dial yours down to 1.25 and see how you go, but in the meantime try and hit your calorie goals for the day with plain but nutritious food.

Three months - lost just over a stone very slowly so far.
