Stalled!

So I did 2.5mg for around 14 weeks
then 3.75mg for around 8 weeks
it’s not working! I need to do 5mg
my friend just went on it and it hasn’t settled until her 4th week.
5mg really scares me. Any advice to prepare?

Have you had any side effects yet? 5mg has been fine for me.

I'm not sure what it is about moving up 1.25mg to 5mg that really scares you? Just that your friend has had a bad experience on it? The thing about medication is that different people react differently. You are already on 3.75mg, you can take a 5mg dose and if it's too much you don't have to do another dose at that level.

Going from 2.5mg-3.75mg was brutal for the first 3 weeks.
diarrhoea, the full feeling so bad it made me sick but this only happened once. And suppression was extremely high which I wasn’t mad about I was still able to eat little bits throughout each day and drink water.
I don’t know why the 5mg scares me to be honest, I think I’ve heard good and bad, but majority bad.

I last injected on the 28th April (I didn’t get paid when I should have so I wasn’t able to order it)
it’s now coming tomorrow and I can jab straight away. Will I be ok going straight to the 5mg?

Going up to 5mg was rubbish for me for the first few weeks. I wasn't sick but felt nauseous all the time. Stick with it though, it gets better.

I wouldn’t go up to 5 after missing a dose. I’d go back to 3.75 and then increase if that’s okay.

TeenLifeMum · 09/05/2025 11:58

I’ve actually found the side effects lesson as I went up so I’m now on 10mg and have zero side effects whereas on 2.5 I was freezing all the time. I’d say to trust the prescription process.

So your injection day is a Monday, and you missed your injection on Monday 5th May? The instructions say:

"If it’s been more than 4 days since you should have used Mounjaro:

• Skip the missed dose
• Then inject your next dose as usual on your scheduled day"

Which means that you can inject it on Monday, if you want to stick to the same injection day. If you inject today, are you going to stick with Friday as your new injection day? The instructions also say that you can move your injection day, as long as it's been at least 3 days since your last injection.

It might be an idea, if you don't already, to use an app like Shotsy/DoseDiary, or the GLP1 plotter website to estimate what the level of medication in your system is based on when you injected and which dose.
