Just done my 5mg on Tuesday and I feel so queasy. Had virtually no side effects on 2.5 but good do I feel sick now
Any tips? I'm on a tonne of painkillers currently so that doesn't help but urgh. Feel shitty.
Currently trying ginger tea

I've not had nausea myself, but drink tonnes of mint tea even pre-MJ, so maybe this has helped!
Hope you feel better

Rosierambles · 08/05/2025 13:03

Actually I love a mint tea and will make o e now I like it anyway so just needed a reminder to drink it

I was so ill after taking 5mg that I reduced the dosage and I'm not in a hurry to increase it!

Ginger tea is a good option. I also drank ginger beer. Peppermint is another good option. Try to keep as hydrated as you can, I know it's not easy x

I reduced my dose! I'm currently taking 4mg a day, as 5mg just made me queesy. I'm now maintaining a BMI of 23.6 and have been on MJ for 7 months.

I found a number of things helped - a probiotic drink, making sure I ate regularly even if I didn't feel hungry, drinking lots of water, avoiding lots of dairy (a small yogurt is ok but a smoothy is too much).

Cycilizine.

susiedaisy1912 · 08/05/2025 15:15

I rode it out and then dropped down to 3.75mg for a while before even attempting to go up to 5mg

Rosierambles · 08/05/2025 18:30

Good to know there are options in between. How do you manage a smaller dose? Is it prescribed or do you manage by clicks ? I'm just not hungry. Have had a pear and some rice cakes with one slice cheese divided between them as a healthy ish snack as supposed to eat dinner later with DH

I manage it by reducing the amount of clicks

PlugInBabyM · 09/05/2025 22:05

@Rosierambles in my experience I’ve taken Cyclizine which helps and the nausea does calm down - after the first or second day it’s nowhere near as bad. But if you really can’t handle it then like others have said - try and reduce it with the clicks - it’s not prescribed you would have to count the clicks yourself. But if you’ve already started the 5mg by the time your next jab comes round your body should be a bit more used to it so maybe you won’t be as nauseous.

p.s I was also on a lot of pain relief when I first started (Oramorph, codeine, naproxen) which makes the nausea ten times worse. Try to eat even a bite of something when you have your meds to try and reduce the nausea - are you feeling any better today?

I had really bad nausea when I went up to 3.75 from 2.5. I was basically living off mints! Strangely though I've just gone up to 5mg and no nausea!
