@KrankySchwester sorry about your news.

And I'm sure people must have noticed, maybe just don't want to comment, not everybody likes to have others commenting on their weight or appearance.

Zempy · 10/05/2025 06:50

@KrankySchwester I have a full blown Pepsi Max addiction but I just never mention it to my dentist. I am sure people have noticed but don’t know if it’s OK to mention.

Well done to everyone for the amazing losses. Keep going!!

My weekend plan is to make some vegetable soup and chill out 😎

HeavyHeidi · 10/05/2025 07:46

I got a couple of new cook books to go through this weekend, Meera Sodha ones - I love cookbooks.
But have to keep the portions small, weight is creeping up instead of going down, body really fighting against my old nemesis sticky point.

Will finish my coffee and do some Caroline Girvan. Will be a lovely warm and sunny weekend here, so probably also some long dog walks and if I can't find a reasonable excuse, guess need to go for a run as well.
Tip of the day, if you have constipation issues, I always find that a run sorts it, so at least there's that.

HeavyHeidi · 10/05/2025 08:07

Oh and do try the TikTok carrot salad. Many versions, one here - can do with garlic and/or ginger, green onions or cilantro, rice vinegar, soy sauce, lemon, fish sauce, sesame oil. So good I ate I think a kilo of it. (which might explain the weight gain😂)

Morning all - week 18 day 7 and down to 62.7kg. Excluding that weird post-holiday weigh in this is my first glimpse of the 62s.
Official WI tomorrow for jab 19.

It’s a lovely day here too. Laundry and a bit of a potter around the patio. Have the gym this afternoon, although still aching from my Thursday home session. Been a while since I’ve done side planks, really feeling it!

Polkadotdash · 10/05/2025 09:12

@KrankySchwester 4 stone is an amazing loss! It must be evident. And the no more pop thing is a killer. I grew up in the late 70s and 80s and all I drank was pop and squash. We even had a pop man that came round like a milk man to deliver the tango and dandelion and burdock. I don’t think I drank a glass of water until 1993. So when the dentist tells my kids off for drinking diluted apple juice for breakfast (they don’t drink pop at all) I inwardly laugh and recall my full sugar childhood! She’d have imploded if she’d had me as a child patient!

MJalltheway · 10/05/2025 09:32

Dandelion and burdock! That brings back memories. We had the pop man too.
i used to be a Diet Coke addict but had to completely give up caffeine a couple of years ago when I was getting episodes of atrial fibrillation. I am still partial to a fizzy drink, but just much more limited these days. I'm drinking gallons of squash since being on MJ.

off for a walk with a friend this morning, looking forward to that. MIL is coming over later today and messaged to check I wasn't going to make her do any exercise 😂

MananaPenelope · 10/05/2025 09:33

I thought about this thread last night, I've had loads of comments on my weightloss. Really nice comments, you look amazing, it's taken years off you, etc., etc..

I've not lost two stone yet! Two more to go. My family is very complimentary but the compliments are now coming from colleagues/business associates. Funny isn't it how clearly a lot of people I know have no issues with it whereas other people on here have experienced something very different.

Not sure what to eat this morning, I am at a CPD event all day, out tonight and all day tomorrow.

I'd love a bacon sandwich, the things holding me back from ordering one .... I probably won't enjoy it and will think it is a waste of calories afterwards and I think there must only be so much magic Spanx can do this evening. Yet to arrive but fingers crossed they do.

Off to browse the breakfast choices again. 😫

HeavyHeidi · 10/05/2025 09:53

I was talking to my boss about it, he said he has of course noticed but didn't want to mention, because when he lost a lot of weight some years ago, it was not intentional but because he had diabetes. So people might genuinely be concerned it's due to health issues - even a guy in my fitness class asked if I'm ok and it's on purpose.

MummyInTheNecropolis · 10/05/2025 09:55

I’ve had a few cautious congratulatory comments at work, but last night I went out with a group of friends I’ve not seen in a while and they were all visibly shocked at how much weight I’ve lost and were gushing with compliments, it was actually very sweet and gave me a real boost! I guess people you’ve not seen in a while are more likely to notice than the people you see every day?

Jins · 10/05/2025 10:03

People are still to notice/comment here but in their defence my overall measurements haven’t changed much, it’s the areas that I hid that have seen the biggest losses.

It was jab day yesterday and Shotsy tells me that my estimated level is nearly 10mg which is the highest yet. I’m really noticing it. I feel pretty nauseous, there’s a bit of acid indigestion going on and I’ve gained 1lb overnight which is a sure sign of things not being right. I’m out all day today so hopefully it’ll just stick at nausea.

I’m dropping back to 6.25mg or even 5mg for next week. I don’t want to be waking up in Corfu feeling like this.

discov · 10/05/2025 10:23

So after bouncing up and down the same couple of lbs since mid April the scales have finally moved down properly and I’ve broken through to the 9st range! I’m on 9st 13.6 so JUST snuck in there but I am thrilled. My period has just finished and I ate a small slice and cake and half an Easter egg yesterday so was expecting to have bounced up in weight again.

Hopefully I don’t go back up again 🙏🏻

Thelittlestranger · 10/05/2025 10:41

I gave up sweetened drinks when I started this, but caffeine free diet coke has crept back in. I don't enjoy the taste of squash anymore, when it was all I drank only 4 months ago...

Went to pub last night, had two glasses of fizz which unsettled my tummy quite a bit this morning. I'm due on, and have been feeling pretty bleurgh in the run up to it this week. Going to start Caroline Girvan's new full body programme today and enjoy the sun, and look after myself a bit this weekend.

Enjoy your weekends all.

I too remember the pop man and also seem to remember taking the glass bottles back for my granny and getting 20p per bottle returned (my dm would never buy pop it was only allowed at granny's house). I'd then go to the sweet shop with my earnings and buy a 20p mix bag.

I had to wean myself off Pepsi max a couple of years ago KrankySchwester - it is so addictive, especially the diet versions with all the chemicals. I'd got up to about 5 cans a day and was worried about my teeth. What helped me was getting my teeth professionally whitened bc then I didn't want to undo the good work! I rarely drink it now.

Have a lovely day in the sunshine everyone 😎, we're off for a walk around a nice market town and to have lunch.

DGonMJ · 10/05/2025 11:12

Well done on hitting the 9s @discov

Never been a big Diet Coke or fizz drinker - unless you count Prosecco! Daytime am a black coffee and peppermint/green tea drinker. And now 0% beer if I’m socialising, any other soft drinks just taste too sweet. I had a Trip at dinner with friends, even that tasted quite sweet.

I did a weigh in on the Renpho scales after logging my juniper scales weight. I’m FINALLY in the acceptable body fat range, by 0.1% 🎉

Only subcut fat and skeletal muscle to target now to complete the greens.
Reducing subcut fat will be a long-term re-comping goal I’m definitely not looking to lose more weight to target that. But hoping that heavier weights will help with the skeletal muscle. It’s taken me 4 months to increase by 2.5%, have another 0.4% to get above 40%,
maybe end of June I’ll be in the ‘standard zone’. Would be amazing to get to 45% right in the middle of standard. Perhaps that’s a 12 month goal.

HeavyHeidi · 10/05/2025 11:20

my fellow losers - I just went for a run (well, slow jog, to be fair) with dogs. Wore shorts. And there was no chub rub. Amazing.

discov · 10/05/2025 11:32

Thank you @DGonMJ!

I am partial to a Trip and I like those Dash water cans too which are just fruit and sparkling water. But generally fizzy just makes me bloat like crazy so I try and avoid.

Well done @HeavyHeidino chub rub is the dream! I haven’t tested it out yet as I seem to live in leggings for dog walking. I’d never brave shorts since I hate my legs but I’ll happily wear a midi skirt. I bought one (in a size 8!!) and a nice knee length Zara dress from Vinted so maybe I’ll actually dress nicely this weekend and see if the rub has gone.

Same! This morning at 8 stone 9 and a BMI of 22.5 my body fat dipped into acceptable 🙌
My skeletal muscle is 39.8 so not too far to go but subcutaneous fat is ridiculous at 29.2% I feel like I'd need to lost more than a stone to bring that down and that's just not happening!
My thighs and arms still need work, but that's always been the case and I'm not looking to be better than I was in my 20s, just no longer unhealthy so I think I've achieved that now.
Body composition is the way forward, I'm just not 100% sure how I'm going to do it. I go to a strength circuits class on a Saturday morning and need to commit to doing some weights at home on a Wednesday morning. I just wonder if that's enough.
I also hit on average at least 10,000 steps per day and do martial arts 2 - 3 times per week which is all about balance, flexibility, stability etc.
I have osteopenia and my biggest fear is osteoporosis, my granny did not far well towards the end, my mum died before it became too impactful to her life. Anything I can do to present he blow would be better!

Week 20 jab today (where the heck did that time go! 😱). Had a bit of a mare with my pen as it stopped twisting way before 1 with a lot of liquid still in there, so ended up using a syringe, but struggled to get .6ml with no air bubbles in there! Got there in the end! 😅

Stats:
SW: 15.13.0
CW: 12.8.6
Loss this week: 1.8lbs

Daren't go anywhere near those scales you all keep talking about it, sounds far too scary for my blobby body! 😂

Hope all you lovely Losers enjoy this beautiful sunny weekend! ☀️

Grecianrainbow · 10/05/2025 12:24

I’’m having some nausea and a bit of frequent loo visits today, after first 10mg jab yesterday. Hoping this is just an initial reaction and next week will be better as I have plans 😳. Plenty of water to try to mitigate the feelings is the plan now.

UnderandOverwhelmed · 10/05/2025 15:22

Afternoon all! I've also had zero comments about my weight loss at work or from family. I'm 1lb away from 3 stone lost so I must look different, maybe i just still look fat and because work see me so rarely they just remember I'm fat and not how fat!
We are on a mini holiday in Devon and I treated myself to a scone todaybut then couldn't stomach an ice-cream when DH and DS had one, so hopefully not too much damage will be done over these few days!

Thelittlestranger · 10/05/2025 18:18

@tinyemmy @DGonMJ this is interesting hearing what other people's stats are. I was assuming that it was just going on weight as I can't get my head around those tiny feet sensors working out too much.

At 26.3 BMI my only non- green ones are skeletal (by 0.1%) and subcutaneous fat (currently 28.2%) I love data, so it is nice to focus on something other than weight. It's made me resubscribe to Caroline Girvan and start her new Max programme. So, a motivator of sorts...

Wow! You probably don't need to lose any more weight then. This is where they say BMI for athletes isn't applicable!
It uses impedance and the idea that it passes through different tissue types at different speeds.
I will take another look at Caroline Girvan. I feel like I need something to get into and I do like to follow a bit of a plan!
I'm going to take the readings with a bit of a pinch of salt but I'm glad body fat is finally green. I certainly won't be losing weight to try and get everything green, but if it happens through working out that would be amazing.

HeavyHeidi · 10/05/2025 19:09

I'm doing Caroline's Beast Mode at the moment, it's fun. If you're into that sort of fun. 😁
Another good thing to report is that skin that at some point was very saggy both on stomach and face has definitely improved. Have been taking collagen as well.
