@MananaPenelope dont be so sure! I am away with 28 year old DD right now, and will be going on a break with 25 year old DS in August…

I am feeling rather pudgy after a few days in the US. The portion sizes are of course huge. I have walked miles and miles but we all know you can’t outrun a bad diet.

I am dreading getting back on the scale but actually looking forward to returning to my usual diet.

GOAL WEIGHT ACHIEVED

Week 20 Day 3 - 10th 5mg
SW 79.6kg
CW 62.2kg BMI 22.9 - healthy!
GW 62.4kg ✅

It’s taken 20 weeks of MJ, early bedtimes, exercising 5-6 days a week, calorie tracking, protein scoffing, water glugging, but I’m where I never thought I could get to with a healthy BMI. 17.4kg lost and I feel so much better.

Now to maintain, tone up and buy some new clothes!

🙌 Amazing @DGonMJ, congratulations! How does it feel?

CurlsandCurves · 20/05/2025 07:11

Fantastic news @DGonMJ !!!

You must be so thrilled.

As an aside, I would love all the ‘it’s cheating’ ‘the drug does all the work for you’ brigade to read your post and see that MJ is just an effective tool that we use alongside a whole lot of hard work and behavioral changes to achieve our goals.

BreezyPeer · 20/05/2025 07:19

@DGonMJ Fantastic news! So much hard work and such a great result 👏
Well done!
You have inspired me xx

@DGonMJ bloody well done 💪👏👏👏

@DGonMJ amazing- so happy for you !

@FuzzyFeelingFairy I’m on 12.5mg and I have good suppression on day 1 & 2 but nothing other than that. I’d be tempted to go up, maybe 13.5 will be really effective and you’ll stay on it fjr a few doses?

I’m not really a poster girl though with my snail like pace and ability to eat in seemingly any situation.

Pandora71 · 20/05/2025 07:38

@DGonMJ congratulations! What is your maintenance plan? Please keep checking in here… it’ll be so important as more of us approach goal weight to support each other to stay on track.

BlueLimes · 20/05/2025 07:41

@FuzzyFeelingFairy sorry meant also to say, I feel a bit like you do. With a stone -1.5 to go. I think I’m going to go up to 15 with next pen in case it’s more effective, otherwise I’ll use willpower with mj helping. I’d love to respond more of course, it’s really frustrating, I feel like my body is fighting against me, which also makes me feel I won’t be able to maintain. Having a negative day as I feel my weigh in will be rubbish despite mostly sticking to 1000 cals. Honestly I can’t eat less or move more than I am 😞

Jins · 20/05/2025 07:53

@DGonMJ massive congratulations.

Disaster this morning as there wasn’t any Turkish delight on offer so had to make do with just jelly. Holiday ruined 🤣🤣🤣

Fabulous explore of Corfu Town yesterday. Steps not counted as I left my smartwatch charging but my feet tell me there were lots of them. Managed 30 lengths of pool but finding it a bit too cold for the 40. Pool is nearly 27m long so took me a while to get the number of strokes sorted. Don’t think swimming is doing much for getting in shape tbh as it’s a bit too easy so might focus on resistance exercise in water instead. Or might just do nothing except enjoy myself.

Supression starting to tail off but I’m naturally taking very small portions and not going back for more. Discovered some ice cream that tastes of the 1970s (banana, chocolate, vanilla and pink) so I’m having a tiny bit of each in the afternoon

Thelittlestranger · 20/05/2025 07:57

Sounds delightful @Jins - I would love to be on holiday right now instead of persuading myself to get out of bed and start work.

Well done @DGonMJ!! I have toning to do as well. My problem is that work has been so crazy, that on my days off, all I want to do is hide on sofa, under a blanket with my cats and a book, rather than workout.

@BlueLimes, this will sound stupid....are you drinking enough water? I found that really helped me. I also found that there were variations in weight (up/down) over the course of a week and a month. I was weighing myself daily so that I could see the pattern. It then made it easier for if I saw days where there was weight gain or a plateau. I'm not weighing myself daily now, but I will have to keep a closer eye on things in the future.

@FuzzyFeelingFairy, be proud of yourself!! You HAVE lost a lot of weight! About the same amount as me. I think the MJ affects us all in different ways. There were points where others were losing whilst I was plateauing or even gaining. Also remember all our start points were different too: my weight in Nov/Dec was about 78-80kg (just over a BMI of 28). Our lifestyles/ages are all so different too, and our jobs, our health etc. My job (nurse) consists of 13hr shifts on my feet, running about like a blue assed fly. There are so many variables but you have done so bloody well....everyone has. Is it worth you speaking to the provider for advice? Or does anyone know any good online resources? x

Yay, congratulations @DGonMJ this is fabulous!! Bet you’re buzzing, and rightly so! Enjoy the new clothes!

MananaPenelope · 20/05/2025 08:31

@DGonMJ very well done, that’s amazing 🤩.

@Zempy I think that’s lovely, my brother’s kids all still join them on holidays, the eldest is 30.

@FuzzyFeelingFairy I’ll be here until the end of the year at my rate of loss, I’m ok with losing a pound a week tbh. Currently on dose two of 5mg. I hear you, sometimes I think wow I’ve lost nearly two stone, other times I’m fgs, I’ve only lost 26lb. 5mg gives me almost instant indigestion 😫. I’ve doubled up on omeprazole.

Back at my lowest weight since January today, 92.2kg, keep your fingers crossed for ⬇️ the start of a trend.

DGonMJ · 20/05/2025 09:20

Thanks ladies, it’s been quite the journey, although I realise I’m lucky compared to some that I’ve reached a weight I’m happy with after just 20 weeks.

How am I feeling? Grateful! I’m really grateful that this has worked, that the medication helped keep me on track even when I’ve felt fed up of weighing every element of every meal and inputting it into MFP. Or when I’ve been disappointed in myself for having another slice of cake or chocolate Lindt bunny. It’s liquid willpower, motivation and stamina.

I’m going to stick around if that’s ok. I’ll need the support of you amazing ladies through maintenance too. I have my Oushk maintenance call on Thursday so will report back on that. I’m in no rush to test what maintenance is like without MJ, will be on it through the rest of the year.

@Pandora71 will see what Oushk advise, but I’m think to stay on 5mg for the rest of this pen and slowly start increasing my calories to find where my actual maintenance level is (Tdeecalculator.net estimates 1800). I’ll likely order another 5mg pen and if I find I’m still losing I’ll count clicks down to 4mg for another month.

Woohoo! Incredible!

I'm just 0.6lb off my goal weight and this morning my skeletal fat was finally average so just subcutaneous fat still to work on.

I've taken 19 jabs so far, 20th due tomorrow and I'm staying on 5mg (dropped down to 2.5 prematurely) for a while.
My stats:
Weight down by 2 stone 13.2lbs
BMI down 7.7 to 22.3
Visceral fat has gone down 7 points
Metabolic age down by 7 years
Body fat percentage down 7.7%
Skeletal muscle up 4.5%

I've also drunk a lot of water, gone to the gym 1 - 2 times per week, walked 10,000+ steps per day, martial arts 3 times per week.

My plan to maintain will be to slowly increase food intake (although on holiday next week so I expect to put on and then try and lose it) and get more strength workouts in to try and reduce subcutaneous fat which has come down by 5.6% but apparently still needs to come down by 2.3%!!

discov · 20/05/2025 09:48

Huge congratulations @DGonMJ 🥳

Yes please let us know how your maintenance call goes. I have mine in a couple of weeks. I’d happily stay on a low dose long term but can’t afford to really! I am on 7.5 so will titrate down I think. I haven’t calorie counted at all since taking MJ and don’t really want to have to start once I reach goal… Have about 10-12lbs left to lose now.

BlueLimes · 20/05/2025 10:19

@TicTac80 around 2 litres- I’ll try and increase.

Also think your colleagues was very rude, hope work less hectic for you this week.

JoanCollinsDiva · 20/05/2025 10:39

Ooh so exciting on here atm - so many reaching goal or close to it! Well done DGonMJ, tinyemmy 👏

Im currently lazing in bed waiting for my slave for the day (dh) to bring me tea and toast and my birthday presents (he's been a while, not sure what he's up to - probably become engrossed in his work again 🙄) and my only plans are a long lunch later on, us and the three oldest dc's who are off work/back from uni and one girlfriend. Hopefully a couple of cocktails too!

Jins - I love Corfu and we've holidayed in Agios Stefanos several times - I'm currently checking out villas for summer as you've reminded me just what lovely times we've had there (I do hate the mozzies though and always get bitten to death).

UnderandOverwhelmed - If your throat is still sore try gargling with tepid salt water - it's a natural disinfectant and always used to soothe my throat when I suffered with tonsillitis when younger.

TicTac80 - Ignore those people with the virtue signall-y "ooh you're too thin" crap. It's nobodies business to mention it, the only comment on someone's looks should be "you look good" and otherwise keep your mouth shut. I believe it often comes from insecurity and is usually said by patronising "are you ok hun"? (head tilt) type people! The only time I've ever expressed concern about weight loss was when my bf was going through a horrible time when her dh had run off with another woman and we were having to take around hot meals as she was a quivering wreck and couldn't eat for months. Usually it's also bc people just aren't used to seeing you slim and have a visceral reaction maybe. But yes, it's rude!

I think a lot of people atm are assuming anyone who's lost weight is on WLI's and feel judgemental about it and therefore like they have the right to comment 🤷‍♀️ it's weird! Mil said similar to me yesterday ("don't lose any more weight! Your jeans are hanging off you") but she did say I looked great so I forgave her 😂

Polkadotdash · 20/05/2025 11:58

@DGonMJ that’s amazing news. I’m so pleased for you ♥️

BlueLimes · 20/05/2025 11:58

Happy birthday @JoanCollinsDiva your day sounds lovely !

Posting an average days food, I’m quite repetitive, I need to lose the nuts maybe.

Coffee with splash of oat milk, protein yogurt, raspberries and blueberries. 250 cals

Another coffee, 20g nuts. 150 cals

Grilled chicken breast salad. 300 ish

Another yogurt/ nuts 300

Salmon/ prawns/ chicken with veg - 300 ish

Rarely drink (now!!), chocolate few squares maybe 2-3 times a week.

BlueLimes · 20/05/2025 12:03

I eat less days 1-3 post jab - normally 800-900 those days, with just lunch and dinner.

HeavyHeidi · 20/05/2025 12:26

So many people at the work meeting have commented on my weight loss, even the ones I rarely talk to, so they should not really have been so aware of my previous size. Can only conclude that I must have been a lot fatter than I thought.

Zempy · 20/05/2025 13:00

Congratulations @DGonMJ such an achievement!!!

Happy birthday @JoanCollinsDiva have a fabulous day.

It’s my last day in NY so I will be soaking up the vibes in Greenwich Village and then heading to the airport for tonight’s red eye.

I really need a 💩
