Where to get next pen from…?

I started mounjaro min-January. Have had pens so far from med express, pillsorted and IQ Doctor. Just tried to order from Zava and they refused to prescribe it.

My BMI is now at 26.9, so I’m guessing that’s why. They asked for photos and I informed them that I was currently taking mounjaro, but they didn’t ask for proof of previous prescriptions.

Has anyone any recommendation of a prescriber who will likely prescribe to me at this point? Or any that likely won’t so I can avoid wasting time on them.

I thought I’d get one more pen from the cheapest I could find before talking/switching to a maintenance supplier. Maybe not!

One of the pharmacies on the Maintenance list on the Monj site?

Fatmumslim01 · 07/05/2025 18:59

I haven't used them myself (yet) but I've heard that oushk are good for maintenance plans

AmateurNoun · 07/05/2025 19:15

I am just in the process of switching to Oushk at BMI 27. They asked me for my current weight, a photo and proof that I had taken Mounjaro previously (I sent a photo of an email confirming the prescription from my previous provider). I am just waiting for them to approve my order.

I am hoping they will be good as I would prefer to just stick with one provider as I will likely be down to normal weight within a couple of months.

Can you not go back to IQ doctor? I emailed them at the weekend about price matching and they said they did this. I also asked about maintenance and they confirmed they support this too.

HousePlans · 07/05/2025 19:26

Ah I didn’t know that about IQ doctor. I’ll look into that, thanks @Hangryfastjo

Yeah, think I need to be looking into maintenance providers now so that I don’t get caught out. I thought about Oushk, but they seem to have a time limit? Or something like that that put me off… (meno-brain…I forget everything I read these days!)

Has anyone used Farmeci? I was considering them when I got to maintenance. But I’ll look into IQ doctor too.

Thanks all.

Oushk doesn't have a time limit. You can stay on it forever, unless you weight gets too low. Can't remember what their lowest BMI was but it is on the monj maintenance providers site.

HousePlans · 07/05/2025 19:36

Hm, can’t find anything on IQ doctor website re maintenance. A google has thrown up some Reddit posts showing emails from them saying you need to be with them from a BMI of 30+.

This is the time limit bit I’d seen on Oushk, it’s on the Flexible plan.

I might be wrong but I think that just means you have to order a pen at least once every 12 months?

HousePlans · 07/05/2025 19:57

Ah that makes sense, thanks @AmateurNoun

I’m now in a bit of a panic having left it so late. Need a pen for Friday and Zava not delivering has scuppered my plans. 😅

@HousePlans it just means you can only restart MJ up to a year after you stop. After that, it’s over!!

Have a look at Swift Dr. If I wasn’t already settled with Pharmulous, they’d be a serious contender for me! Oh, and Medicine Marketplace. They both offer long term maintenance and they price match.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 07/05/2025 20:02

Just saw your comment. Pharmulous will do next day delivery if you order before 2pm. So if you ordered tonight and got all your pics in tomorrow am you should have it on Friday. Not sure about the others I suggested but think they’re pretty quick.

HousePlans · 07/05/2025 20:35

Thanks @IReallyNeedThisToWork I hadn’t heard of Swift or Medicine Marketplace so I’ll have a look at them for maintenance.

Have ordered pen for Friday. Will now give myself proper amount of time to look properly into different maintenance plans rather than doing it in a panic tonight…

I changed to oushk at around BMI of 25, no issues.

HousePlans · 07/05/2025 20:46

Good to know @Rainbowchicken, thanks for that.

Here is my email reply from IQ Doctor

Yes, price match is still available as long as the conditions are the same.
At IQ Doctor we do provide maintenance dose support, providing it is clinically appropriate. You will be advised to taper to a lower dose which will maintain your healthy BMI and not encourage further weight loss. We do understand that Mounjaro was used as a diet and exercise alone were not helpful for weight loss therefore we support the use of Mounjaro to keep the weight off allowing you to stay in a healthy BMI range. If you decide to stop, given it has not exceeded a long period of time, you will be able to re-commence the mounjaro with us as we will have your record on file showing you did start the medication when your BMI was 30 or above.

Bigsigh24 · 08/05/2025 20:32

Always swapped suppliers, faff doing photos again etc and saving prescriptions for proof, but worth it with the savings you can make, and my bmi is same as yours and IQ doctor supplied to me, never had an issue if all information that they ask for is provided x
