Awful headaches!

Hi,

I'm on week 5 of mounjaro, just moved up to 5mg.
for the last 2 weeks iv had awful headaches.

I know it’s listed as a symptom but is it normal to last like this? It’s been really targeted pain on one side of my head. Yesterday it eased off but now it’s moved to the side of my nose.

iv been drinking lots of water but is there anything else I can do? I don’t normally get headaches so this feels bad to me. I feel like I’m taking painkillers loads and even those aren’t keeping the pain at bay. I have had a flare up of psoriasis on my scalp last week so I don’t know if it’s all related.

any advice?

thanks

Have you tried drinking electrolytes? So not just water, but water with salt & sugar in it. You can buy electrolyte powders, but easier to make a glass of warm water with a big pinch of sea salt and a drizzle of honey.

Also, it could be low blood sugar and/or low blood pressure - are you eating enough? Three meals a day, enough variety of veg, protein and fibre? If you've had significant appetite suppression you might need to force yourself to eat sometimes but it's really important that you do.

Hmmm, maybe. I upped to 5mg on Sunday and iv had good suppression. Yesterday I had a bowl of 0% yogurt with berries & honey for lunch then a bowl of prawn pad Thai for dinner with a few dates as snacks. But I had the headaches when on 2.5mg and I didn’t feel any suppression after the first week

I do think looking at what many have been eating on the ‘what I ate’ thread on the wli threads - many simply aren’t eating enough - now I know the whole point is suppression of eating but it’s almost at the point of starvation with some- the other thing is a lack of carbs will put many into keto -even if they aren’t actually thinking ‘keto’ and one of the main side effects of a lot of keto initially for many is headaches. I’m guilty of this myself , not by actively trying to do keto but by eating very little carb in the choices I’ve made. I’ve now banged the porridge back in the mix !!
