MJ and back pain

cherylblossom66 · 06/05/2025 21:42

I’ve suffered with back pain for as long as I can remember.

BMI is just on just under 30 at nearly 11 stone for my 5ft so exercise is hard.

i know you can advise back pain as a condition. Just wondering though what ( if any ) diagnosis would I have to prove to a provider.

Thanks

If you have consulted your GP about it there will be a note of the consultation in your NHS app which you could screenshot?

you might need a diagnosis of back pain specifically for a weight related comorbidity (degenerative disc disease, spinal compression etc), worth checking with providers as back pain is not officially stated in nice guidelines so they might have different policies for what, if any, documentation they need to comply with the new prescribing guidelines.
