Increased Boredom on MJ?

6 replies

Daschy16 · 03/05/2025 22:24

I've been on MJ for 5 weeks now and whilst I'm pleased I'm losing weight, I've noticed that I'm getting really bored in the evenings. Has anyone else noticed this? Is it just because I was speaking obsessed with food before?

I was the same, then realised it was because I wasn’t snacking! I’ve started reading more, or going for a walk in the evening instead - starting a new habit :)

@ChaosDream - it's weird - all that time thinking about food and snacking before! Will need to find a hobby now - thank you for the response. It's good to know it's not just me!

If I’m not at the gym, I have started building these in the evenings! 😂 (cheaper on tt shop!!)

@IReallyNeedThisToWork Oh my gosh, I have started doing these too. Well, the mini dolls houses rather than the book nooks. I am obsessed. I bought a load of kits in the sale and now I have had to buy a glass display cupboard to put them in 🤣

I did buy the Japanese cherry blossom book nook though, so looking forward to making that.

I also enjoy building Lego.

I am also exercising more too. I feel freed up to go to the gym/pool after work, without getting put off by having to wait too long to eat my dinner

Thanks all - I was given a book nook fir Christmas, and I've done a couple before, so definitely will try those.
@IReallyNeedThisToWork - where is TT?
I did go for a walk this evening which also broke the evening up a bit.
I am a bit caught off guard by how bored I was getting- i knew food was a big part of my life, but I'm only now realising how big it was. I just need to find new coping mechanisms for boredom and managing emotions.
