well maybe not noise - as I am not craving junk food , but I took my first dose of Mounjaro on Wednesday night , and I can’t stop thinking about food and diets . I am also not having any side effects. I know some say the 2.5 dose does do too much, but I am not sure I want to be thinking about my next ( healthy ) meal or diets all the time. Any advice ? Thanks

Distract yourself somehow would be the obvious suggestion. Don’t give yourself time to dwell on things. I think when you start something new and different like this it’s possible to get hyper focussed on it, rather than just getting on with our normal day.

It will build and you will get a stronger dose soon. Stick with it.

FunnyCrabDance · 03/05/2025 19:14

You'll soon get used to it, i definitely felt quite food obsessed for the first week or 2.

FortyElephants · 03/05/2025 19:38

Be patient. You're barely on the medication yet.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 03/05/2025 19:46

You’re just hyper focused because it’s new and the anticipation over everything to come is a lot right now. It will die down and become your new normal. Be patient. You’re presumably in this for the long haul, so you can’t expect to be in control of everything immediately. Side effects may come later or they may not. Everyone’s path is different.

There is nothing wrong with thinking about food and your diet though. I was the same at the start and I ploughed all my energy into meal planning, shopping and batch cooking to keep me in the right track. I think about food more now than I ever did and I’m 6 months in. The difference is I’m thinking ‘I’m out all day today, what shall I eat that’s good’ rather then giving it no thought and eating fast food and cakes. I don’t see the ‘shift’ in food noise to be a bad thing at all.

This is all helpful- yes and I agree I think why I had put on weight was I was thinking about healthy meals enough so ended up hungry and over eating . Totally agree about hyper vigilance too. Thanks everyone
