I didn’t expect to need a new thread in under 2 weeks but here we go!

Thanks for all the support everyone. I skimmed the old thread last night and we have over 80 posters (not a typo) starting in the last 2 weeks! I will work out if I can tag regular posters later but the old thread is close to full so wanted to get this up and running for Friday updates.

@Catherhino be wary of that - my pen locked at 4 doses- and I had done 200 of each so technically should have had200 mg left- I’m sure if I can Ted around with syringes etc I could have got more out but I don’t want to do that

Beabeautiful · 07/05/2025 13:55

Well finally got on the scales after 13 days on 2.5 pw of Manjaro.
Starting weight 13.7 stone
current weight 13.5 stone - really thought I would have lost more - a bit disheartened tbh - anyway 3rd jab tomorrow - lets see how this goes.
I am in deficit with good suppression still drinking lots and moving and exercising lots.
Can someone motivate me please x

Crikeyalmighty · 07/05/2025 14:10

@Beabeautiful I think it has given many unrealistic expectations. At the end of the day ‘it’s an aid’ to eating far less - it doesn’t magically melt fat away -for those who struggle to lose weight in the past even when sticking to rigorous 1000 to 1300 cals a day then it’s unlikely to suddenly make you lose incredibly quickly unless you have massively upped exercise so a bigger calorie deficit , although there are exceptions of course . Where I think it’s a huge difference is those who were eating and possibly drinking and snacking far too much and are now at the 1100 cals a day for probably the first time ever in recent years for a consistent period - don’t be dishearten a pound or 2 a week really does build up over time -

I feel your disappointment.. I’ve felt it this week too.

I’ve had some lovely supportive messages from the good people on here.

The things that have helped me are to remember that this is a long (ish) term process and the first one is really just to get your body used to the medication.

it takes time to gain weight and so takes time to lose it.i hated it when my old slimming world coach said this, but they were right!

You have already done the hardest and most important bit … making the decision to lose weight for your health and wellbeing, you should be really proud of that.

and .. it’s a loss! .. it’s not feeling like a WOW loss right now, but you have lost those pounds and that’s an achievement!

non scale victories are important too. you are experiencing positive appetite changes, you are drinking loads of water and exercising… these are wonderful things for your body.

someone asked if I took measurements and I didn’t (wish I had) as we don’t always see the scales moving but our bodies may be changing … feeling less bloated, Clothes fitting a bit better etc.

if may be that you get the WOW losses when you move to 5ml. You may not have had much ‘water weight’ to lose so don’t get an initial whoosh.

but mainly, I want to say that you are working hard and you are getting there. This is a process and you have started it,This is brilliant!

We are all here for you and I’m sending you supportive hugs 🙂

MsRicoletti · 07/05/2025 14:15

So… I’ve just tried to order my next pen at 5ml and the medexpress website is not working for me. Keeps asking me to fill in health questionnaire again and recommending starting dose 2.5ml of a first pen of MJ.

I’ve emailed medexpress and hopefully they get back to me.

Anyone else had this trouble or is it just me ? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Banana34 · 07/05/2025 14:20

Lost 5.8lb in my first week 😀
Had my second dose on Monday and no side effects so far.

Scratch this… they emailed me straight back and it’s sorted. 5ml here we come!

Oh no!! Thanks for the heads up. Hopefully that won’t happen but I’ll get some spare syringes just in case!

Hi everyone

W2D5

Ive not posted in a few days just been so busy! Has anyone experienced the dry mouth yet? I had it on day 1 of my 2nd injection it was awful! I drank so much water and it wouldn’t go even my throat felt dry and I struggled to eat, but an electrolyte drink sorted it out and I’ve been fine ever since no other symptoms.

Suppression and food noise are there a little I feel hungry at meal times but I’ve not stuffed my face with rubbish! Still had no chocolate and it’s been time of the month!

Ive just ordered my next pen of 5mg. I really debated with ordering a 2.5 or 5 but Ive gone for 5 and I’ll see how I get on.

Hi @Vixs13 I am same day and thinking of 5ml for next pen. Keep us updated.

Mounjaronew · 07/05/2025 15:40

On day 3/4 and no appetite at all. Feeling a bit sick woozy and cold though. Worth it if I can lose 2 stone.

Chunkysewist · 07/05/2025 16:32

Argh so not only am I hungry, Im stressed now too! My next jab was meant to be delivered today but dpd are saying there is a delay 🤷 and that it won't be delivered tomorrow either. How long will it stay cold? The weather is getting hotter here. Dpd advised to contact pharmacy and get it refunded or resent. I've done that but no reply yet 😮‍💨

Chunkysewist · 07/05/2025 17:51

Ok, I'm calmer, pharmacy says it will arrive tomorrow within the 48 hour window of staying cool. On a positive note I nearly had a snack attack but had a protein shake instead. The negative of that is that I'm now no longer hungry for tea 🫤
I had a 'dress form' arrive today (tailors dummy) and I set her up to my measurements, she's a big girl 😔 sad to see 'myself' like that. I look forward to dialing her in a few notches as I lose weight!

I have had a dry mouth and really thirsty after both jabs for a couple of days. Still thirsty now on day 5 but not as bad.

Well done, everyone on all the great losses!

I caught myself thinking 'oh I need to be 'good' tomorrow as weigh in Friday'. Trying to get out of this disordered thinking! I told myself 'no, I will continue as I have been having healthy and nutritious meals.'

If anyone is following any mounjaro accounts on Instagram - I got bored last night and started one up! 😂 I'm junipermounjaromum 😊

Caddycat · 07/05/2025 13:11

Finally jumped today and ordered my first pen. I'm scared, especially as I haven't and I don't plan on telling anyone... I know family would judge.

Well done, Caddycat! This group will be right here with you if you are scared about anything.

catchingzzzeds · 07/05/2025 18:30

@Chunkysewist that’s good about the delivery. I like the idea of you being able to see your progress by adjusting your mannequin!

@Sunshineandpool following!

That's brilliant that you lost 2lb. You might have lost cms somewhere too? Plus look at your other victories - drinking and exercising lots! You're doing brilliantly!

catchingzzzeds · 07/05/2025 18:35

@Banana34 well done!

@Beabeautiful I’m sorry you’re feeling that way, remember though there will be lots of other good things happening in your body as a result of all your hard work

And also I had a big loss in my first week, but I'm starting at 19st - if you are much lighter than this I think you are unlikely to get such a big loss as I did.

Crikeyalmighty · 07/05/2025 18:49

@Sunshineandpool I think some have but it’s more likely to be excess water weight or like yourself simply use up more calories just ‘by existing’ - ( which will of course drop as you drop weight ) well done you though x

SkibidiSigma · 07/05/2025 18:52

Thanks everyone for the good luck! I actually had a great day, them came home and did my 3rd jab! I'm down to 92kg which is a 1.5kg loss (3.3lbs) so I'm happy with that.

@Sunshineandpool I will find you and follow! @Chunkysewist how cool is that, being able to see your progress on the mannequin!

Yes, that's what I meant, I'm using more calories just by being so just because I had a big loss doesn't mean I tried any harder. A loss is a loss and should be celebrated!

TheFoxylady · 07/05/2025 19:15

Hi ..sorry I've been MIA..had my first weigh in last Thursday and lost 7lb! Which is amazing for me as normally when I diet as I have PCOS it doesn't come off that quick.. 2nd weigh in tomorrow and jab 3...I'm excited but nervous I've had my period this week and feel so bloated so not sure if I've put some back on which I will be very disappointed in.. well done to all of you . You are all doing amazing!👏👏
