Weight Loss Plateau

I’ve been on Mounjaro since January and lost just over 3 stone but the last 3 weeks I’ve lost nothing at all and it’s looking like this week will be the same. It’s so frustrating! I’m working out 4-5 times a week as I have been since I started and I’m 100% in a calorie deficit. My TDEE in 2295 and I’m eating between 1400-1500 calories each day. I track religiously so definitely not over consuming and I drink plenty of water. I have no idea what to try so if anyone has any suggestions how I can get past my plateau it would be greatly appreciated. I’m moving up to 7.5mg this week so hoping that might help!

Plateaus are normal and sometimes your body spends a while recalibrating, especially if you’ve reached a weight at which you stayed for a while when you were gaining weight. As you’ve lost 3 stone, have you checked your calories arent now slightly too high for continued weight loss? You might need to drop down to 1000-1200 to see a difference. Drink tons of water - and I mean TONS. And don’t beat yourself up, you’ve done amazingly well so far. You might find going up to 7.5 helps you, or you could try the above first and see what happens. The overall trend is downwards - try not to be too disheartened.

Hi OP. This is normal. I would plateau for a few weeks then thr weight would start coming off again. It happens so your body can catch up to the huge drastic weight loss

This happened to me at a similar stage and then there was a whoosh. In retrospect a slowdown wasn’t a bad thing because I’d lost a lot quickly and was feeling very tired. I’m on 7.5 now which has made a difference, but perhaps I should just have been more patient.

My TDEE in 2295 and I’m eating between 1400-1500 calories each day.

Is that your current TDEE or your TDEE when you started?

BugsLifeX · 01/05/2025 11:25

I probably do need to be more patient, it’s just annoying when I’m doing all the right things and the scales aren’t budging 😂

Its my current TDEE, I’ve been rechecking after every stone I lose

Hopefully the whoosh arrives soon!

2295 is a huge tdee. Mine is around 1600! Do you exercise a lot?

Is it? Mine’s about 2200 at 82kg. That’s BMR plus an average of nearly 700 active calories a day.

I do exercise 4-5 times a week but mainly I’ve just got a lot to lose (9 stone) which puts my TDEE up

As others have said this is a totally normal stage, just trust the process, stick with the exercise, water and deficit and you will start losing again.

In the past three weeks I've barely lost any weight, but I suddenly look slimmer, and feel different in clothes - took measurements this morning and I've lost 2 inches off my waist!! I do think bodies are weird sometimes, but staying the course seems the way forward for me.
