My weight loss

I have found reading people’s stories both very helpful and inspirational so I thought it may be time to share mine.

I started Mounjaro in September ‘24. I was 95kg which at 164cm put me at a BMI of 35. I counted calories and also did intermittent fasting. So I ate all my allowance between 12 and 19:00.

In January I hit my target weight of 61kg and a BMI of 22. I never went over 5mg as it worked fine although there weeks I had to work a lot harder to not partake in the children’s takeaway treat 🙂.

Since January I have been on a maintenance plan taking 2,5mg every 10 days. And I have managed to maintain without much effort. I am planning to change this to 15 days.

I am thrilled I did this. I feel and look really well. I was lucky that I managed to lose weight consistently every week which is very motivating and experience no side effects other than some hair loss.

Well done, OP!

A very similar journey to me. I started at 92kg which was a BMI of about 34.5 and I’m now 59kg. I reached goal weight in March after starting MJ in September last year. I also never got higher than 5mg, I did most of it on 3.75. I was going to taper down but was finding even with 1.25mg I was having to spread it out over two weeks or weight was still coming off, so I’ve now stopped altogether and going to see what happens!

best of luck! The motivation is the biggest thing I think, staying motivated when you’ve got a long way to go and you’re always hungry is rubbish. But take away the hunger and it’s a lot easier to stay motivated. I eat super healthily now too, it’s really changed my diet and how I approach food.

This is very inspiring for those of us who just started!! Well done!!
can I ask how have you managed 3.75 doses- do you just count clicks instead ?
in terms of side effect it sounds like you both have done so well, I have had a lot of bloating this first week but I am hoping it settles, basically feel and look super bloated all the time 😵‍💫😵‍💫 did either of you have that at all? Feels like all the food is very heavy in my stomach!

doodleschnoodle · 30/04/2025 20:29

Yes I did clicks. 5 gave me a couple of days of the runs each time so settled on 3.75 as that had minimal side effects but good suppression still.

The first couple of months are the trickiest. Pepto Bismol is good for any digestive quirks and don’t rush to move up a dose if it’s working for you.

Good luck! It’s been life-changing for me and worth every penny so I hope for the same for you!

Well done. May I ask where you got your Mounjaro from?

Wow you both have lost a lot of weight quickly!

I am down 35lbs (BMI from 35 to 28) but that's since July 2024. Am just chugging along averaging 0.5lb a week, but it's 99% stopped my bingeing and being out of control with food which feels amazing.

StartingApril2025 · 30/04/2025 22:40

@User5274959 that’s amazing results too !! So good to feel in control, you should be very proud of yourself!

User5274959 · 30/04/2025 22:51

I am very pleased, not sure if proud is the right word for how I feel? I've consciously not been dieting or calorie counting, or fixating on scales too much (only weigh once a week and mainly to see if I'm plateauing and need to move up a dose) but the binge urges have just gone. I can just take or leave food instead of being obsessed with it!

@doodleschnoodlethat’s almost identical losses. Well done! I am thinking of stopping too. The main reason I put on weight was consecutive pregnancies so I am hoping I can keep it off now. I have also changed my portions and reduced simple things like the olive oil in my cooking.

@Illegally18i got my prescription initially from Zava but I wasn’t happy with them so changed to Oushk. There are a number of registered pharmacies offering prescriptions. All registered pharmacies sell the same medication as the drug is patented and only one manufacturer can produce it.
monj.co.uk has a list of the other providers.

@User5274959amazing results for you too!! Well done!
