PoemsForTea · 08/06/2025 15:01

Hi team - I've had a proper busy day cleaning, gardening, driving and 'sorting' - now off to the kitchen for a big old cook up to set me free for the week! (No, not a cock up @Blondeshavemorefun😆)
What's everyone having for tea?

WorriedRelative · 08/06/2025 15:22

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/06/2025 14:44

Well done @WorriedRelative. So close to Healthy. Go and have a poo - a 7lb poo baby 😂😂

🤣 they never weigh as much as you think they should do though!!!

FurForksSake · 08/06/2025 15:31

@PoemsForTearoast chicken and lots of veg! It’ll become risotto for tomorrow. I like a roast on a Sunday as I can make it fit my lifestyle and it’s delicious 😆

Weepixie · 08/06/2025 15:32

What's everyone having for tea?

@PoemsForTea god knows. I’m on day 2 in bed with horrific acid reflux and don’t know what to do with myself. I’m seeing the surgeons on Thursday with a view to having surgery on my hernia that happened after my ovary situation but I’m suspecting this acid is also Mounjaro bug who knows.

Have you made your mind up yet what you’re having.

Getting close to auggies 15. Wow - I will do one nearing 1000

Timetofindme · 08/06/2025 18:50

@WorriedRelative I'm miles away from maintenance! Got quite poorly when I stepped up to 6.25 so I'm just plodding along slowly. Trying to use it as an opportunity to change habits - so still eating 3 meals a day, just less of it and far fewer snacks, etc. I don't want to be so suppressed I feel sick and struggle to eat so I'll be here a while 😂 plus had a couple of weeks off due to an operation.

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/06/2025 21:56

Again @Timetofindme we are all here to support you

i eat 3 meals a day as well - so many seem to eat two or eat weird stuff on the eating thread , so I’m not surprised they dont lose weight

OP posts:
FurForksSake · 09/06/2025 17:32

I eat three meals most days, dinner was a veg packed risotto and I had a white Kit Kat for a snack. Lunch was half a bagel and some sliced turkey and tomatoes. Half because they are cohen’s and HUGE. Breakfast was Greek yoghurt, berries, crunchy bran and granola.

I need to take some stool softeners tonight, I’m on a lot of painkiller including oramorph and they are backing me up.

I generally do two meals, I have a sedentary job so missing breakfast doesn't bother me and I got used to it doing IF a while ago.

I might change if I was planning to be very active before lunch or if lunch was likely to be very late.

Weepixie · 09/06/2025 19:47

I eat 3 meals a day, plus one snack if one of my meals has been dense and I’ve not been able to eat all of it. Today though I went right off piste with my choices, it’s not as healthy as I’d usually have but I’m still within my calories

Breakfast - a white pudding in batter and one slice of bread and butter. 🙈 All a I can say in my defence is that my above fridge freezer broke overnight and the mealie puddings had to be eaten.

lunch - small baked potato and couple of spoonful of beans with a salad.

Dinner - 1 steak fajita with salad.

snack - half a Greek yoghurt and honey with some frozen berries.

Last couple of days I’ve not eaten much at all due to bloody agonising acid reflux and gas that has me in awe of my double glazing and the fact I haven’t blown my own windows out.

Weepixie · 09/06/2025 19:56

@PoemsForTea, your meals sound delicious. Do you like cooking? I do, and we have very similar tastes. Not that there’s much bacon where I live 🤣

poppym12 · 09/06/2025 20:23

That's a good point @Weepixie. This last few months will have taken a toll on our bodies, regardless of whether we're young, healthy etc.

Maybe when (if) I get to maintenance I'll start to feel better. The worrying part is staying at a healthy weight after Mounjaro or finding a dosage that will help but not have the same high cost outlay.

I hope you're ok.

FurForksSake · 09/06/2025 20:31

Will there come a point where our bodies get used to the Mj and it will stop being effective? I’m just wondering if we’ll adjust to the highest dose and there’ll be no point continuing?

my weight is down post holiday, the eating a little more does seem to have shifted things. I’m excited to be closer to 8stone than 10 stone now, I don’t consciously ever remember being in the 8s!

I remembered a conversation with an old friend, she was slimming for her wedding and spoke to me so rudely about how hard it was to be the weight she was and that she had to be 7.5st to look acceptable. I was probably 11 or 12st at the time and was utterly shocked that she looked very slim but not wasting away at that weight. Just shows how everyone carries weight differently!

@Usernamechangeforthis12 having smaller boobs feels like a game changer for me. I'm short and so I always felt like my big boobs entered the room first and dominated people's impression of me. A photo from a couple of years ago made melook like Miss Trunchbowl Shock Now my clothes lie so much more nicely. And you look amazing in that clubbng dress. Really fabulous.

@Azuresky68 late to see yourpost, but you look wonderful as MOB. Healthy, vibrant and confident.

@Weepixie do you take any medication for acid reflux? Omeprazole really helped for me.

@PoemsForTea liver and bacon - so long since I had that and with wet cold weather it coud be just what's needed.

@Weepixie I had breakfast out this morning: black pudding, haggis, bacon, sausage, potato scone (then all the usual stuff of egg, tomato, mushroom, beans). But that was the main meal of my day. Pea and broccoli soup for dinner. Fruit and yogurt.

I don't think this is how most medications work (maybe excepting some painkillers). Milliions of people take a long term stable dose of 'something' for high blood pressure, or cholesterol, or acid reflux, or hormonal imbalance. We don't worry about the contraceptive pill becoming ineffective once our bodies get used to it. These medications just work as they as supposed to work.

Maybe the challenge with MJ (or weight loss in general) is that we also need to change our eating habits as the drug impacts us. The calories required to maintain at 16 stones are more than those required to maintain at 13 stone, which are more than required to maintain at 10 stone. If you reach 10 stone, and want to stay there, you can never again eat the general diet you ate when you maintained at 16 stone. Your body is not as big and does not need as much food. Whether or not you are taking MJ, that is a big shift in thinking.

FurForksSake · 10/06/2025 08:08

@20bloodypounds Excellent points! I saw a video from someone that said they had found the mj had become ineffective so had stopped. Suppression I read was a side effect, so perhaps that lessens whilst the other benefits continue? that would be positive, and of course it js how we expect other meds to work.

i definitely have to be on board with my maintenance calories at target being 1000/1100 a day until I can get into exercise again and can get a few more calories!

God I wish my boobs would shrink a bit. Mine still enter the room first, I look like Hattie Jakes! Currently in denial about bra size, my 36GG bra was too big, tried a 34H and the cups are too small. I can't face trying to find bigger than an H cup so am managing and hoping further losses reduce the boobs to a more manageable size.

Prob with shrinking boobs is that I have spaniels ears now 🙀😢
