@Glittermoonlight I have 3 pounds to lose to get to 8 stone 7 pounds. . It's been slow going recently..holidays and big social events. I am 68 and now just under 5 foot. I really don't want to go under 24 BMI though. Already a size 8 fro 12/14. I might stay on MJ for a very long time as I have battled my weight since I was 15.

NippyNinjaCrab · 27/05/2025 22:07

I'm still here wee @Azuresky68, just lurking because this sinus infection is still kicking my arse and I've been on the antibiotics 6 days now, not much of a reprieve happening. I'm maintaining at 11st, dropped to 10st 13 last week. If I wasn't going on holiday id not bother about going down but I've cleaned the bank out with my new clothes ffs! Losing weight is super expensive and not just for the MJ! Xx

Timetochange24 · 27/05/2025 22:23

I'm still here, just with less time to post at the moment. It's been lovely reading through and especially to hear updates from some of you who've been quieter recently.

I'm just below my original target but aiming to lose another 3kg before moving fully onto maintenance. Today I weighed in at 9 st 13 lb 15.9 oz. So I'd like to be a bit more comfortably in the 9s 😂 I originally signed up not believing it would work (so much so that I didn't tell dp I was wasting more money on yet another weight loss fad). And here I am over 25kg down. Now if the last 3 could just do me a favour and disappear quickly...

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/05/2025 22:51

Wow. 28 replies. So lovely to hear from so Many of us

A busy day for us with lunch out at Tobys and did eat less / a much smaller portion of meat and veg and didn’t est all of the yorkie a

so guess I have some kind of suppression

I always eat 3 meals and usually a snack /treat

I did find the yorkies fat too oily today and squeezed the middle usually the best bit and oil dripped onto my plate and I felt sick

@Arraminta I don’t think I can. I got to 10/10 before via ww and a 10/12 but struggled to keep it there hence I’ve said 11s

you are still on mj - Will you always be on it ?
How much does 7.5 cost you a month /5w

What if we all come off and then gain it all as more hungry and can’t control …….

@poppym12 so very close then. Well done

great list @Azuresky68 and alphabetic

waves to @BettyandtheVets. I had that issue. People saying too slim and stop. I think as I was so big before and not used to seeing me smaller tho

how much have you lost now @BettyandtheVets?

@morbidcuriosity that’s how I feel. How will I maintain if stop - glad you had a good burp and fart

glad had a nice holiday @20bloodypoundsand bmi 25 - it wow so long. Did you email or wats app them

when I booked it said none for weeks. Then messaged them and said with them and couldn’t get a maintenece app and they got one for me the next week

I only want Hira. She is gorgeous

@WitchDancer sure you will be ok. Positive mindset.

@Glittermoonlight amazing low bmi. Well done / yes be one year soon

@Redlightbulb glad still here

@MabelSpan Hope garden is looking pretty / do you have nice weather where you are ?

@Azuresky68 interesting about your friend and suppression

yes we do eat less day to day

I do drink lots of water and sure fri the scales will be nice to you

@NippyNinjaCrab sorry been poorly

good to hear from you @Timetochange24 and that you are at maintenece /target / what has dh said about your weight loss and does he now know about mj?

@Blondeshavemorefun I haven't told him 😳 He's been the same weight for the nearly 3 decades I've known him and he doesn't really understand why it's so hard to "just eat less". He's been very respectful about my weight loss. He never commented about it when I was at my biggest and he's never asked details like how much I've lost. I don't think he knows how much, or what 1 stone less looks like compared with 10 stone, just that there's generally less of me now. Scales, weight and diets have never been part of his world.

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/05/2025 23:29

Awww he sounds lovely 💓

Weepixie · 28/05/2025 02:07

She reckons the trick is to eat much less at mealtimes because the way MJ works for us that due to food being in our stomaches longer we get fuller more quickly

@Azuresky68 hi there, since I started this I’ve gone for the smaller portion approach whilst sticking to 1450 - 1500 calories. I’ve never really had suppression so I couldn’t have relied on that anyway to be in deficit but I’m glad I didn’t have it because what I sure that what I have fine is better for me now and longer term. This last few weeks though I have had suppression, or perhaps that should be not much interest in food, so I could have decided not to eat to lose weight faster but I still stuck to my 1500 calories a day for the sake of my health. Today I’m due another dose and I’ve just weighed, I’ve lost another 400gms which is what I’ve lost throughout so I’m going back down to 11 from 12.5 because it has me exhausted, and for me it’s not worth it as I have 1500 calories a day regardless.

Weepixie · 28/05/2025 02:16

Sorry, forgot to add that part of my plan going forward is to only ever eat from a much smaller plate, have one biscuit or half a scone or cake, and if I’m out for a meal to continue to only eat half of what’s on the plate.

20bloodypounds · 28/05/2025 07:45

@Timetochange24 I've have the same kind of (always slender and lean) dh - he didn't seem to notice that I was bigger, and he doesn't know how much weight I've lost now. He only knows that I feel better about myself, and he does notice that I eat smaller amounts. I've never told him about MJ

MabelSpan · 28/05/2025 10:24

@Blondeshavemorefun My garden is a mix of organised chaos for wildlife, I have resident hedgehogs that I feed and this Spring I have had nesting robins, blackbirds, blue tits and long tailed tits and these are just the nests I know about! I love nature but it is a constant battle between them and me when it comes to who gets to eat my homegrown treats! They usually win.
I grow all my own veg, salads and herbs from seeds and have way too many fruit trees and bushes.
So its a never ending cycle that takes up all my spare time but I wouldnt want it any other way. Its so good for the soul.

Congrats on your fab weight loss and thanks for keeping this thread going, I dont think I will reach my goal till about March 26, maybe. So a long way to go for me, although not as far as it once was!😊

Azuresky68 · 28/05/2025 11:14

So lovely to hear from everyone! Trying to motivate myself to do some house stuff. My thoughts were turning to food but realised that it was a delaying tactic that is a habit developed since I retired and after years of working I am quite lazy if I am at home with jobs to do. Still the same weight with 3 pounds to target. I sent an in-depth email to pass onto Hira for advice and it's been acknowledged but I think they are struggling to stay on top of things due to their well deserved success..I have got 3 pens now (2 of those are 10 mg are due for delivery today) So 2x10 plus a 7.5 mg ordered ages ago. Hope to make those last for around 4 months.

All the best to everyone as always

Azuresky68 · 28/05/2025 15:23

Quick update! Following my email to Hira about being stuck, I got a call from her. She also said that suppresion is a side effect and that MJ will still be working internally eg slowing down digestion. Advised to stay on 10 mg but if struggling jab every 5 days, rather than go up in dose. She was also of the opinion that 3 pounds isn't anything to stress about and BMI measurements are so outdated. Such a lovely supportive woman too.

Weepixie · 28/05/2025 15:56

@Azuresky68 I meant to say earlier on than sometimes (recently) if I’m reading up on Mounjaro the first hit on my page is an AI generate article that mentions the suppression being a side effect and the slowing down of the digestive system being the way it works.

and on a different note in general - I was speaking with my Dr son in law tonight who has patients on Mounjaro and he said he looks for a loss of half a percent of a persons weight weekly.

Addictedtobeauty · 28/05/2025 17:43

I’m still here too- plodding along. Still got a stone to lose. Dropping very slowly but, dropping nonetheless and i don’t need to tell you lot how that was not the case pre MJ despite lots of effort. I imagine I will take this or something similar long term if I can. I do not want to regain.

20bloodypounds · 28/05/2025 18:19

@Weepixie I was speaking with my Dr son in law tonight who has patients on Mounjaro and he said he looks for a loss of half a percent of a persons weight weekly. That's about right for me.

I think at the beginning we lost so much more (because we were so much bigger) and it can be hard when that progress tails off. I take comfort in the fact that I continue to go gradually downward - month by month.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/05/2025 18:44

@MabelSpan we all still be here cheering you on. So lovely all the animals /birds you have

@Azuresky68 go up a dose

oh scrolling down seems not. Listen to Hira. What do I know

and yes 3lbs is nothing so ……..

@Addictedtobeauty nice to hear from you. And yah for a stone to go and somehow I have a feeling a few is is May be long term

Thanks, interesting one. Must calculate that.

Azuresky68 · 28/05/2025 19:22

@Addictedtobeauty glad to hear you are still doing well and nice to hear from you 😀

PoemsForTea · 28/05/2025 19:53

Still here too, nowhere near maintenance so just keeping my head down and very slowly plodding on!
It's almost embarrassing to post just a stone loss in 3 and a bit months - I don't care,I'm healthy and happy - its just not really very interesting 😆
So I am here, I just have no words of wisdom for maintainers!

Timetofindme · 28/05/2025 20:22

Im still here. Just incredibly busy and not doing much bar a quick read of posts. Lovely to see everyone's progress.

Like a few others I'll be here quite a while longer. Just had my first proper plateau I think for a good 8ish weeks of same couple of pounds on and off. Haven't wanted to go up a dose as I was so unwell before on it so just sitting it out and I've had a small loss the last 2 weeks so hopefully on my way down again!

NippyNinjaCrab · 28/05/2025 21:48

It's so lovely to read everyone's updates and know you all are still around. @Blondeshavemorefun you've got a wee crush on Hira lol 😆 she's very pretty and such a genuinely nice person.
@MabelSpan i would love your garden, we had a second viewing at a cottage on a working estate on Saturday. It's small but everything I've ever wanted in a home. The garden is large at the back and there is a house Martin nest in one of the outhouses 🙏
The garden will be able to be sectioned off for veg etc. I've never been able to do that at this house. Bliss xx

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/05/2025 23:58

@PoemsForTea that’s a lb a week. Normal and what I lose some weeks / so not sure why you feel bad

@Timetofindme sorry been the same few pounds on and off and finding higher doses making you ill

@NippyNinjaCrab she was just so lovely and to begin with I thought Hira was a man

exciting having a second viewing - for the perfect garden for veggies and knob dog
