Oh you brilliant bunch - very well done everyone! Lovely hearing so many at goal and maintaining ❤️
I had a 2lb loss at last - did 12.5 from my 10 pen and my new 12.5mg came yesterday as was briefly back in stock! It clearly worked a bit better.
Finished work tonight for a week - so will see how the week pans out as we are away for a few days next week!

weaselyeyes · 09/05/2025 19:13

Ooh, well done @Glittermoonlight and @PoemsForTea! 2lb losses feel fantastic at this point.

that’s amazing. Well done !! Why did you chose 10s - was that top of bmi ? To drop even a shop lower than that is amazing
what tree will you buy ?
@Blondeshavemorefun Thank you! I chose 10 stone because I think anything lower felt unimaginable. My healthy BMI is 7'4"-9'10" (or 7'-9'6" if I accept I've shrunk an inch!). I've had so many weight fluctuations, but since having my daughter, the lowest I ever got down to was about 10 stone. I'd gain weight, lose a lot, gain it again - I thought I'd never get to 10 again, and I knew that although I was technically overweight then, it wasn't by too much and I just felt normal. So 10 stone was my secret hope I didn't really dare voice. I didn't even dare think I could be a normal weight! I was 14'4" when I started MJ (and have weighed more). Assuming I manage to get in the 8s, I'm trying to decide between a pink hawthorn and a Judas tree 😀

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/05/2025 21:27

Wow @Weepixie have you felt ok ?

yah @PoemsForTea

@weaselyeyes it’s so weird over height as I can’t imagine getting to 10s myself. Let alone 9 or even being 7s

thank god I have 7 inches

ha ha ha

only 7 I’m likely to have for a loooooooooooooooong time x

Weepixie · 09/05/2025 23:09

Blondes, have I felt ok? Well yes, I have, apart from some heartburn and finally knowing what the suppression is that people talk about 🤣.

Id been on 10 for a couple of months and thought I’ll go up a wee bit to 11 just to see what it’s like then mistakenly went up to 12.5 instead and in hindsight I think the real tiredness I’ve felt these last couple of weeks has been (for the most part) the Mounjaro and not jet lag and walking 10kms a day on holiday. I was in bed most nights by about 7.30 but I am early to bed anyway and I was even joking in freezing Scotland that it was the electric blanket my brother had put on the bed for me that was the attraction.

Do I expect a whoosh on the scales this week? No not at all. I’m still sticking to my 1500 calories day because any less than that would be detrimental to my health, I’m eating less at each meal time but I’m eating more meals. I eat. Feel full very quickly. But then an hour later I’m hungry again and could eat again but I dont. I pace myself as I want good gaps between meals so I’m not just continually eating - been there, done that, have thrown those T-shirts in the bin and never want them back.

I’m going to see how it goes on the 12.5.

owlyboo · 09/05/2025 23:24

Im Wavering now on whether to continue with tapering down as I’ve been doing or ordering another pen and doing 5 for a whilst longer. I’ve been struggling with appetite this week but also realise I need to grapple with that! I think I’m going to stick with 5 for a few weeks this time instead of going down after the next one. And if I want to I’ll be able to order another pen in a few weeks as I’ll still be in the time to order within maintenance.

I think I’ll just have to see how it goes. I’ve been fine until this week but really felt hungry this week. I’ve managed it so maybe the pen I have left will be enough to taper down a little more slowly… it’s a 10 so lots of doses if I ignore the 30 day 😬 we shall see! Well to all losses!

owlyboo · 09/05/2025 23:28

on a positive note… I did a hike today and my vo2 levels were tested again and I’ve gone up another level! Now into the excellent range 😍 can’t actually believe it as I started at the very bottom!!

@owlyboo well done on going for your hike, I definitely need to up my exercise. I think staying on 5mg longer sounds a good plan, I know we’re all individual though. I think I’m going to go down the doses very slowly, currently on 7.5mg, then will go down to 5mg after. I also will be using a 10mg pen, I’m thinking of perhaps getting 6 doses out of it, hate wasting it though! I normally don’t keep my pen in the fridge, but I’m thinking I probably will do if I’m going over the 30 days, especially if the weather warms up more. Then I’m thinking of going down to 3.75, then 2.5 then finally 1.25 then I’ll stop!! What is your weight now?

owlyboo · 09/05/2025 23:54

@Glittermoonlightthanks. I’ve gone down two weekly and guessing the MJ has come out of my system more this week so hoping a few weeks at 5 will help balance it.

im at 10 stone 3 and bmi 23.1 so dont want to lose anymore but equally obviously want to maintain!

i keep mine in the fridge. I think going over the 30 days will be okay as it only says it becomes ‘less effective’ if anything

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/05/2025 08:06

@Weepixie as I rarely get suppression it’s a weird feeling when do

@owlyboo have no idea what vo is but well done

do you have reduced every 2w or so? That dog dd a quick way and maybe why hungry as body is catching up

I’m dreading reducing as wasn’t till 10 I really got the odd suppression and even on 15 I don’t feel much so think will struggle

also why I don’t know which plan to go like I said to @Azuresky68

@Glittermoonlight I think it’s fine to go over 30 days if look after pen

thry have to have a cut off but sure it’s way over what the say

its like dates on foods. After midnight they don’t go poof

Morning all, what's Vo2? @owlyboo

@Glittermoonlight hello lovely and I'm similar that I'm doing 2mg just now i have done a 1.25 and been not too bad.

In reference to calories, I don't count them and haven't when on MJ, well for a week i think and i used Nutracheck to track and check my protein levels. I always felt I get obsessed, and that i do eat a lot of things that are great for you like nuts seeds and full fat everything buy very high in calories. I think my breakfast was around 600 calories and I was measuring the seeds etc. I dont want to do that. Xx

FurForksSake · 10/05/2025 10:34

Morning! I’m freezing today, jab day yesterday.

I definitely feel more inclined to exercise now I’m slimmer. Even if I’m still not regular, I have more of an urge to do something. I saw something about how some people make sure they do their thirty minutes of exercise in whatever way. I’m thinking ten minutes of any exercise and building up. Today my son and I are going to do a walk. Tomorrow I might take him swimming. Husband and other son are camping.

I do count calories and track them, it helps me immensely as otherwise with my brain I can easily consume without noticing or awareness.

we have stopped using gousto which made things very easy with tracking. I’m trying to stick with lean means and lots of veg and being really mindful about my oil use. It’s so easy to tip some oil in the pan and not realise how many calories are there. See also grated cheese on things! I am trying to weigh stuff so that I’m more aware.

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/05/2025 11:35

Not being rude my lovely little nympho @NippyNinjaCrab but do you get anything from 1.25. Seems such a small dose to hard core me at 15

thi wish I was lower as cheaper

Happy Saturday All, and hooray for everyone's loses. We're back from holiday and I'm thrilled to report I haven't gained an ounce and have actually lost a whole 1lb! Considering we went All Inclusive this must be some kind of miracle?

To be honest, it was very easy to eat well as there were tonnes of fresh fruit/salad & fish every day. But what really motivated me were looking at other overweight/obese people around the pools. And it wasn't even the aesthetics really, it was watching the difficulties they had with movement i.e. getting in/out of the pools, on/off sun loungers, even their walking looked awkward. They all looked so uncomfortable and unhealthy to me.

I think we should all feel very proud of ourselves for getting healthy again and ensuring our futures are looking brighter & better.

Glittermoonlight · 10/05/2025 13:21

I know this is weight loss here, but we’ve had such a sad morning. Our cat had become much more frail the last couple of weeks, this morning we saw a vet & made the very sad decision to have her euthanised. She had heart problems, & fluid was building up in her abdomen. She was 16 1/2 years old, which is good for a cat. We’re back home now but already the house feels so empty without her here. Such a lovely cat😢

Arraminta · 10/05/2025 13:28

Oh I am so, sorry @Glittermoonlight that is such sad news. It sounds like she lived to a very good old age, and I bet she knew every single day how much she was loved.

BettyandtheVets · 10/05/2025 13:38

so sorry about your cat @Glittermoonlight I never cried as much as when my dog died - that was 2017 and if I see a Red Setter even now it makes me cry. Be kind to yourself for the next couple of weeks.

Just popped in to do my usual very occasional post to say well done but mostly a thank you for keeping the thread going - I read every single post but can never remember who to tag, sorry. I know you all but can’t remember who said what. Thank you for all the pictures too - I might be brave and post one when I’m nearer to goal.

Particular well done to all those who are at or near goal, I bet that’s a fantastic feeling..

Getting a lot of people noticing I’ve lost weight. I don’t mind them mentioning it but I hate it when they say ‘how have you done it’. Had one colleague at work go on and on about it this week and I was struggling to shut her up. Fortunately another colleague who knows I’m on MJ stepped in and just said I’d been really good and she’d seen what I eat on lunchtimes etc. only told her and close family that I’m on MJ.

Not lost weight for the last 2 weeks so think I’m on a plateau which is frustrating especially when I’m a slow 1lb a week looser. I don’t want to go up to 12.5 just yet as I’ve still got 4 stone to loose and my suppression is still OK.

FurForksSake · 10/05/2025 14:36

@Glittermoonlight So sorry, those furry paws can leave some a big gap.

NippyNinjaCrab · 10/05/2025 15:05

Yeah it definitely keeps the drug in my system and I'm not too bad at all, remember 3.75mg really affected me re mood and stuff. DH was asking about it and I did say that he might react differently to me and need higher doses so it could be a lot more costly for him. Xx

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/05/2025 15:07

@Arraminta great you lost on holiday

@Glittermoonlight so sorry about your pussy cat 💐💐

@BettyandtheVets just say calorie counting as most of us do check what we eat - hoping for a whoosh for you next week. I had 2w sts. Was annoying

OP posts:
NippyNinjaCrab · 10/05/2025 15:09

Oh no @Glittermoonlight I'm so sorry, when they leave the gap is huge. One of my cats was 20, she was still yapping away and loud because she was deaf. She had cancer so although she looked okay her tummy was huge with inflammation and it was kinder to let her away. Hugs, her wee soul will always be with you xxx

weaselyeyes · 10/05/2025 15:11

I'm so sorry @Glittermoonlight. It's just devastating. I've had cats all my life, so have had to go through this several times, but it never gets any easier xx

Glittermoonlight · 10/05/2025 15:30

Thank you for your kind words @Arraminta @BettyandtheVets @FurForksSake @Blondeshavemorefun @NippyNinjaCrab & @weaselyeyes we are all feeling so gloomy today, my youngest son has ASD & was only 5 years old when we got her, he has no memories of a time without her with us. He’s struggling today, he finds day to day life hard anyway.

Azuresky68 · 10/05/2025 16:56

Hi everyone. Just been catching up on the posts. Well done on all the losses! I still haven't weighed as I have had 2 boozy weekends in a row..well this one started on Thursday and the drinking has stopped now. Had a lovely time up in the Lake District, staying at my OH's sisters new home in a tiny village with a great pub. I didn't drink too much and definitely didn't eat as much as everyone else. The 11.5 MJ jab last Sunday is still working in that today I just couldn't eat anything this morning as my stomach must still be full. Only had a few prawns so far today. BUT I am so scared of it all piling back on. Definitely not ready to go down in doses yet and too scared to get weighed. Will get back on track now.

Azuresky68 · 10/05/2025 17:07

@Blondeshavemorefun no need to decide which plan as it's totally flexible. You just need to book a maintenance appointment to discuss. I have maintenance codes but not really on maintenance as I have stalled for a while due to holidays, social events and being poorly/worried about health. My last pen was a 10 mg and will probably stay at that until got down to 8 stone 7..my ultimate goal. Scared to weigh this week last time I weighed was 8 days ago after fasting before procedure last Friday and I weighed 9 stone. But worried that I have put on after two very social weekends.

Azuresky68 · 10/05/2025 17:19

@Glittermoonlight so sorry to hear about your cat. Sending my best wishes to you and your family
