When did you move pharmacies for maintenance?

Hello,

I am possibly way too early with this (my bmi is still 32 and I am only two and a half weeks into this particular weightloss journey), but at what point do you move to a pharmacy that offers maintenance. I am with ZAVA and whilst so far my experience has been very positive, they do not offer maintenance from what I can see.

My bmi has bounced around in the overweight and obese categories all my adult life as I lost some weight, regained some weight etc etc, so I am resigned to needing some form of maintenance to stop yet another regain. I am of course making healthy changes too, I am walking, swimming, eating healthily and calorie counting as well as 16:8 fasting. But I have done all this before and regained.

So, long story short, my question is, do I need to move to a pharmacy that allows maintenance before my bmi drops below 30? Or do I have some time to wait?

Thank you for any insight.

I moved at BMI 31 as lots don't accept under 30

That's what I'm thinking. Will look to move. Who did you move to?

I chose one of the first maintenance friendly pharmacies from the start - Pharmulous.

I'd suggest BMI 30 otherwise, but I've seen online that some like Oushk currently will take you on even at a healthy BMI - with evidence of your history.

We don't know when policies might change, so better to err on the side of caution.

I’m very nervous about this. My BMI has now dropped under 30 (3.5 wks with a very good response to my first pen). I’m with ASDA (essentially the same as ZAVA) and am also worrying about this. I’ve ordered my next pen with Asda but wondering about trying to switch to Oushk now. A poster on another thread suggested I wouldn’t be able to move though which I’m very worried about.

Thank you.
Pharmulous is one of the ones I am looking at, as I am a half hour drive away from their physical pharmacy, which could help with regards to picking up my prescription rather that hoping I am home when delivery arrives (I work part time and slightly irregular hours)

Edited to add - just seen their location near me is not a physical store, so that blows that plan out of the water.

Plenty of time. Most of the ‘front runners’ in providing maintenance will take you on even under 25. I think it’s only the dreaded ME that won’t take anyone under 30 despite proof you’re already on the medication

I moved to my provider at bmi29 and have happily settled there. Don’t panic but do start to have a look at what they each offer and think about what you want. Good luck!

Thank you. Who did you move to? I was thinking Pharmulous but now open to others.

It might not be a physical store, but they offer vaccinations so there must be an office to visit.

I still highly recommend Pharmulous.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 28/04/2025 13:23

Ha! It IS Pharmulous I am with!! I too am about 30 mins away from them and they are happy for me to pick up from their office should I wish to and if I give them a little notice!

Their delivery has been very reliable over the last 4 months though! I order on a Sunday and it has been with me on Tuesday every single time except right after Christmas when they emailed to apologise that they were catching up with orders so it would be an extra day.

I am very happy with them overall!

@Incognitoburrito88 the other poster is misinformed! Is it the same person posting everywhere that Hira is an obesity specialist?!?

Oushk, Pharmulous, Simple will def take you on even at a healthy weight. I am sure there are others too!

Howinthehelldidthishappen · 28/04/2025 13:40

I switched to Oushk at a bmi of 27 ish.
I lost a lot very quickly, but they were happy to accept with photos and proof of previous orders.
I'm now on their maintenance plan and only a couple of pounds from goal weight after nearly 4 months from first injection.

TheNinthLock · 28/04/2025 13:45

Fabulous, thanks all! I’ll get in touch with Pharmulous I think xx

did you see the list of maintenance pharmacies on the monj site? It has some information on each if that might help.
