Is MJ stocked in regular pharmacies?

Hi all -

I am T2 diabetic and having struggled with other medication side effects my nurse is keen for me to try this for my sugar levels.

At first I was dubious but having found this thread I feel much more positive. I could do with losing about 4 stone and if this works for weight loss AND sugar levels it will be fantastic. I have an appt with the nurse next Friday and would love to start taking it asap after that but wondered if pharmacies stock it or whether it’s likely I will have to wait for it to be ordered? Now I have made up my mind I would start tomorrow but have to wait for some blood test results first.

I’m eagerly enjoying all of your updates in the meantime! 😁

My local independent pharmacy offers it, but I don't know if it is always in stock. You need to find out which pharmacies in your area offer weight loss services.

It tends to take a few days once you have been approved. I’m not sure whether you have been approved yet though or just your nurse said it would be a good idea. It’s not easy to get it prescribed on the nhs yet. Most people get it privately through on line pharmacies. I use Boots. It’s not the cheapest but I’m comfortable with the general service.

Ah ok thanks - she is a specialist diabetic nurse so as far as I’m aware she just need a prescribers sign off. It’s available on the nhs for t2 diabetics who are unable to take other medications to control their sugar levels she said

I am prescribed it for type 2 by diabetic nurse, I geared myself up to taking same day it was prescribed but my pharmacy next to GP surgery had to order it in, this was on a Friday and it came in by the Monday afternoon. I’m on W2 so far so good and no real side effects.

Glad to hear it’s going well for you!
