Which day to stop?

Hi, i posted a while ago asking how long before an op do I need to stop mounjaro.

I have been told I need to stop a week before.

I usually take on a Sunday, the op is on Thurs 8th May. I had planned on taking my last jab today but now I'm panicking that's not enough time.

Can anyone help please?

Your Dr (I assume) has told you to stop one week before. If you jab today that is 1.5 weeks before.

What are your concerns?

If you think the Dr is not clued up enough on Mounjaro, and it is causing you stress before your operation/GA perhaps not injecting today might be less stressful for you overall.

I tend to err on the side of caution and unless the Dr (or preferably the anesthetist) had given me confidence he did fully understand Mounjaro and the risk, I probably wouldn't inject today either. I would weigh up (excuse the pun) what the real impact was of not injecting one week extra had to my overall Mounjaro journey vs the stress of not being sure.

But that is me - you have your own individual medical history and attitude to risk.

The nurse at the pre op appt said to stop taking one week before.

I'm actually titrating down because I've reached a weight I'm happy with. So if I didn't take the injection today I wasn't sure if I can go back to the same dose currently (5mg) or go back to 2.5mg

I had an op 6 March, my doctor said 14 days before. So I took my last jab 20 Feb. I then didn't restart again until 11 March, so had to go back to 2.5.

Depends on your provider where they will let you restart after a break. Some stick to if you stop for 2 weeks then you go back to 2.5mg. Others allow longer depending on your Mounjaro history.
