Different shape with mounjaro

I’ve now lost 4 stone on Mounjaro and have gone from a 18 to size 14. I’m now at my original goal but not yet at my goal size which is a 12. I see people going crazy skinny on MJ which isn’t for me.

My shape has however changed, I now weigh the same as I did 8 years ago and I was then a lot slimmer. I had a caesarean which has not helped my tummy area. I’m also rather sad that my feet still remain a size bigger.

Has anyone else found they are now a different shape?

Isn't that to do with pregnancy rather than mounjaro?

ambercabs · 22/04/2025 20:52

I’m a different shape also but I think like pp that it is related to pregnancy

VelociraptorsVelociRapping · 22/04/2025 21:14

Pregnancy can permanently change your shape, especially in the ribs and hips. You probably also had better muscle tone previously simply because you were nearly a decade younger, unless you have actively and consistently maintained strength training in the intervening years. Were you ever checked for diastasis recti?

I went up half a shoe size with each pregnancy. I’m now lighter than I was when I conceived DC1 and still a full size up so it’s probably time to admit to myself that I’ll never again fit in those pre-pregnancy shoes in my wardrobe. I had been hanging on to them in the hope that my weight loss would also lead to foot shrinkage!

I am a different shape. Haven’t had any children but I am older. The last time I was this weight I was 15 years younger. At 9st I was a size 8. I am now a size ten.

I have lost muscle tone - that might be a combination of age and Mounjaro. When I was last this weight my breasts were a lot smaller too!

I am not too concerned - I am at my goal weight and don’t want to lose any more. I have taken up swimming and some weight training to see if I can improve muscle tone.

Yes totally agree. I lost weight a year after my daughter was born on lighter life. I had an ok stomach and my boobs shrank. This time my boobs haven't shrank as much and my stomach must have gone beyond its elastic limit as it is way more hangy than it ever was for the equivalent weight 6 years ago.

Violashifts · 23/04/2025 09:00

My feet have shrank back though my shoes are loose.

SurreyisSunny · 23/04/2025 09:31

@VelociraptorsVelociRapping yes I’ve had to accept the shoes won’t fit again and chucked a load away at the weekend and gave some to charity. It’s the posh ones I’m more sad about, never again will I be able to afford LK Bennett for work!

@Violashifts i keep seeing people online having tummy tucks post mounjaro, that’s not for me as the recovery looks horrendous.

@Bellyblueboy yes this is probably muscle tone, I’m unfortunately not one for the gym

I agree on the shoes - it’s heartbreaking. I have some lovely, expensive heels. Now I just walk out of them.

I also had a lot of expensive work clothes - mainly two sizes too big now. They are in the loft now. I sold some on Vinted.

rebuilding my wardrobe in size 10 is expensive. I am trying to avoid trends and buy classic pieces. But it’s hard - particularly as I love the style at the moment - wide trousers, knit short sleeve tops etc.

I have just this morning noticed crepey skin on the insides on my elbows? WTH 🤦‍♀️.

I know this is weight loss related - although I am 46 so might also be aging.

But I can live with the creepy skin - I don’t want the 3 stone back😊

I am definitely a different shape after losing with MJ. I have clothes that I wore a few years ago when I was the same weight, or even a few lbs heavier and they look dreadful. This time around I've retained more weight around my tummy but I've lost my arse, my legs are definitely thinner. However, I'm not sure how much of that is because of MJ or because I am older now and I think as you get older that weight just does cling to your tummy area.

SurreyisSunny · 23/04/2025 09:47

@Bellyblueboy I’ve got a saggy bum which I’m probably now stuck with! Like you I’d prefer that than an extra 4 stone

I agree! Apart from the recovery the scar looks as bad as the skin hang, have to hide with pants either way. Appreciate it is personal choice.

SurreyisSunny · 23/04/2025 18:30

@SnacklessWonder sounds exactly like me. My legs have definitely thinned down. I look back at pictures of me weighing more and I can’t even fit into those dresses

My menopausal boobs are a lot bigger than they were last time I weighed my current weight. Bra cup size has hardly gone down after 2 st loss although the back size has.
