Mounjaro and Constipation

Hi everyone, apologies in advance for the nature of this post but I’m in desperate need of some advice! I’ve been on Mounjaro since January (1 2.5mg pen and 3 5mg pens) I was relatively side effect free until the last fortnight where I’ve had the worst constipation. I’ve tried senna, bisacodyl and most recently dulcoease. Nothings changed in my diet and it’s pretty good so I’m not sure why it’s suddenly cropped up now but without crossing into TMI territory I’m in a lot of pain and bleeding now so thought I’d post here in case anyone had any tips!

Glycerine suppositories are supposed to be good and very fast acting. I bought a packet, but the walk to the chemist and back erm...got things moving so I didn't need them.

Are you still passing wind?
Is your abdomen swollen?
You can get over the counter laxatives that work much more effectively than what you've taken.
I would maybe go for some movicol/ laxido and take a couple of them morning and night until you go.
If you're still struggling speak with your prescribing pharmacist or your local one x x x

Take senna along side the laxido as they work in different way.
Male sure you drink plenty of water with the laxido
Maybe try some gentle exercise too, that can often work wonders

Oh I feel your pain . This was me when I started . The only thing that worked for me was daily prunes , fybrogel twice a day , ducoease twice a day , psyllium husk , flax seeds and chia seeds on my porridge and kiwis . Also plenty of water . I also had ducolax when I got really desperate and it worked for me . I still have daily prunes , psyllium husk and flax and chia seeds to keep things moving . It does get better.

I find a magnesium supplement worked for me when nothing else would

Two kiwis a day Honestly just try it.

If you’re bleeding rectally and it’s due to impacted faeces or piles/anal fissure exacerbated by constipation then you probably need to attack it from that end; glycerol suppositories can be bought at any chemist and most big supermarkets. Alternatively, you could try a micralax enema which I think can be purchased at a pharmacy (including your online provider).
Constipation aside, ANY rectal bleeding should be investigated by your GP. Please don’t ignore it even if it seems to have resolved.
You have my sympathy and solidarity as I’m also plagued by MJ constipation.
