Golden Dose: Munjaro

I’d love to hear from those who have taken a 5th dose from their pen. The online sellers advise against it of course. One site states that those who do suffer more severe side effects. This seems unlikely to me, but I thought I’d check with those who have used it.

Done it 3 times and it's been absolutely fine

housemaus · 20/04/2025 17:10

I've done it, it was fine!

blueleavesgreensky · 20/04/2025 17:11

Why on earth would people who use it have more side effects? Unless they are using it to have a higher dose then it’s a bonkers statement

Time4changeagain · 20/04/2025 17:13

Taken 10 bonus doses so far, Its no different to any other dose.

StrikeForever · 20/04/2025 17:41

These were my thoughts. No doubt the nonsense statement was to scare people off doing so, so they make more money.

Have taken the bonus dose since my first pen last July and will continue to do so. No issues whatsoever.

StrikeForever · 20/04/2025 20:55

Do the larger doses hold enough for a full ‘golden dose’?

Yes

All dosage pens hold enough for a full fifth dose unless you have over primed at any point. It’s the same liquid as is in the rest of the pen so is fine.

I have taken 10 of them so far and never had less than 0.8ml out of each pen (normal dose is 0.6ml). If you look at a click chart you can work out how much the extra 0.2ml is. There’s a way to calculate it too but I’ve never done so😂

It’s not a ‘golden’ dose in any way shape or form and that terminology seems to prompt some people into doing some very foolish things with it!

Thank you. I agree about the term. I used it because it’s commonly understood to be the additional dose. Isn’t 0.6 a 2.5 dose? I was going to take 0.9 at the end of my 2.5 pen, as I assumed that would be 3.75 and so it would be a less dramatic leap up to the 5 dose pen. I have seen a chart. Would I be incorrect in assuming that every 0.3 is 1.25?

0.6ml is a 2,5mg dose if you've got a 2.5mg pen. if you have a 5mg pen, then 0.6ml is a 5mg dose etc. Each pen has the same amount of liquid in it, it is the strength of the dose that is increased, not the amount of liquid.

rockingbird · 21/04/2025 13:58

This is helpful (I think) used an insulin syringe yesterday on my 7.5mg pen for the 5th dose and I got just under 0.8ml out of it. Presumably I’ve gone up a bit 🙈 hence me feeling a little bit sick!

l3tsdanc3 · 21/04/2025 14:03

Used it for the entire 8 months. As had my husband. Makes no difference at all

Oh wow, I’m so glad I asked. Thank you.
