Golden dose question

Can anyone explain how I get the 5th dose out of my pen please? It came with 6 needles - does that mean I just load it up the same way for a 5th time? That would mean another 0.6ml 2.5mg dose but I was hoping for the bigger dose as a step up to 5mg. Thanks!

The pen will lock and no longer turn after you have done 4 injections. The extra needles are spares in case you have a duff needle and need to replace one.

To use the remaining medication you can try a hard twist of the pen to break the locking mechanism. Then you can attach a needle and inject as before. But often, a hard twist will totally break the internal mechanism and the plunger won’t move. So in that case people buy separate syringes with a fixed needle and manually extract the medication via the red seal.

I'm sure they have changed the pens so you can't get the golden dose out in the same way you get the other doses out.bit let's you twist the pen but it won't let you push it down to get the dose out. I bought syringes off Amazon to get the last dose out

Don’t buy syringes from Amazon, they aren’t medical grade. You can get them from places like UK Medi or similar.

It’s 0.6ml - it’s always 0.6ml in any strength pen.

No matter what strength the pen is, the dose is contained in 0.6ml of the medication.

0.6ml is the standard dose dispensed from the pen. The golden dose differs depending on how much is left in the pen. I had 0.8ml on my last golden dose so I took it all as it was a small increase before increasing my dose for my next pen. If I wasn't increasing, I would just extract 0.6 - hope that makes sense! I get needles from UK medi.

I get them from SHD medical, a lot cheaper, I paid £5.24 incl p&p for 10. If the needle is long 12mm, inject it half way. You can also get 8mm needles on uk medi

There's generally 0.8ml of MJ left in each pen, in my experience.

You can use the extra 0.2ml if you like. I always do. So from a 15mg pen, 0.2ml is 5mg of MJ.

No point wasting it.

I still manage to twist. It still works for me, but I have to twist harder

It has worked on 3 out of 6 pens for me as the new ones are designed to break when twisting hard.

What size needle is best? I looked on SHD and they have 1 and 2 ml
