Welcome to the latest thread, all WL warriors welcome as always.

Congrats to us all for our achievements and NSVs so far. And props for all the support, encouragement and kindnesses throughout.

Feel we’re breaking the back of this now! Base camp is firmly in our rear view and we’re climbing on … will some start to see the summit in the distance, over the course of this thread? That is pretty darn exciting!

No matter what your pace, and if you’ve lost a microwave, a tin of paint or 192,000 bees: well done!

xx

I tried 2 doses of 7.5. They seemed fine at first with no side effects but it seemed to wear off a couple of days before my jab day and I was ravenous. I took 5 the next week so I had 2.5 to top up with but I didn’t use it. So now sticking at 5mg. I have a 10mg in fridge but will hope get 8 or 9 5mg doses out of it. Weight loss seems to be steady at about 1.5lbs a week and I’m happy with that.

PurpleCoo · 09/05/2025 18:29

Week 13 day 1 here. Dose 3.85

SW 96.55
CW 82.2
Weekly loss 1.3
Total loss 14.35

I'm very happy. I only lost 0.5 last week, so the little extra this week helps restore some of that balance. I am still a little behind as target for this week would have been 82kg, but not as behind as I was. Hopefully I can manage 1.2kg next week to get back on target. I know weight loss will slow, but I want to keep at 1kg a week while I am still obese. This is only about 3-4kg I think.

Dose still feels right. I did have a couple of hungry days, but it's balanced over the week and I am due on so seems to be the usual hormonal hungry 2 days, which I can live with

NSV - I bought some size 14 cropped trousers 2 years ago when I was in denial that I was gaining weight. They still have the tags on and I could barely pull them all the way up let alone get close to doing them up. Well, I can now do them up! I will probably wait a week or two until wearing them as they look a bit tight. Although the identical pair in a size 16 look ridiculously enormous on me, and equally unflattering

sweetpickle2 · 09/05/2025 21:47

Thankfully my sickness last night was fleeting- felt fine when I woke up this morning. I didn't really eat a proper meal yesterday just lots of things on the go as I was at a work conference, so I wonder if thats why.

A NSV tonight though- met an old friend for dinner who I haven't seen in about a year as she moved away to where I'm staying this week, and the first thing she said when she was me was "you've lost so much weight!" (I know you're not meant to say that to people and I personally never would but I took it in the way it was intended and felt very pleased about it.)

sc0ttishlass · 09/05/2025 22:54

That's great @SweetPeaGirl ! Similarly todsy at school drop off and then at pick up, 2 people asked if I had lost weight. One sounded awkward saying it and said how I didn't need to lose weight anyway etc which I clearly did, but I was delighted. Think it's probably as warm here so had jeans and a tshirt on so more obvious xx

OvertiredandConfused · 09/05/2025 23:30

Official weekly weigh day for me. Almost at the end of week 14, six weeks on 7.5mg.

4.5lbs off this week after just 1/2lb last week. Total loss since the beginning of February is 3st 2lbs.

I’m definitely finding that this dose does that much more with a small loss and then a much bigger loss the following week. I think I’ll stay on 7.5mg for another month.

Starting to feel it a bit now and can see it in my face, arms and hands. A few people have commented and some of last year’s looser summer dresses are definitely too big to wear. But STILL no change in trousers! Can’t even fasten the next size down. So frustrating.

Nutracheck has adjusted my daily calories down by 250. I rarely eat the new number of calories, let alone the old one, but I am feeling quite nervous about having less room for manoeuvre. It will make it quite hard to have even a healthy ready meal (Cook is a favourite when I’m home alone) on days when I also want to have lunch and a latte and banana for breakfast.

SpiralSister · 10/05/2025 07:23

Morning lovelies!

Weigh in day for me, 13 weeks in:
SW: 15.5, waist 38 inches, BMI 35.8
CW: 13.1, waist 33.5, BMI 30.5
TL: 2 stone 4 lbs
TW: 10.5 BMI 24.1

So close to being out of obesity! And not far off having a low risk waist measurement! I’m absolutely bloody delighted.

Still 2 stone 10 lbs to go until target (although that might be a bit low, I might adjust as I get into the 11’s), but convinced I can do it. I feel a bit teary when I look at starting weight. I was so unhealthy and in denial.

Staying on 5mg for now, like others I sometimes feel it’s not working as life and food seem so normal, but it clearly is if I’m losing 2 lbs a week. Might go up next month.

Off on holiday today though, see how that goes! Aiming to have fewer ‘keeping you company, didn’t really want this’ drinks with DH! Will be walking, swimming and relaxing..

Have a great weekend, warriors! 💐

SansaClegane · 10/05/2025 08:36

Hi all

A frustrating week for me too. On one hand it's nice that I'm not the only one, but on the other hand, I hope we all come off the plateau soon!!

SW: 210.4 lbs
CW: 172.0 lbs

I've only lost 0.8 lbs in the last week, my first week of 7.5. And I had such high hopes! Can't really understand why - suppression was good and I consistently stayed below the 1000-1200 kcal mark.

Struggling to 💩 this week though, so maybe this is it (and I'll try the hot drink tip!)
Anyway - onwards and upwards - here's to a better week for all of us next week!

Lola50 · 10/05/2025 08:41

Anybody found a way not to fixate on the scale numbers? For most of the week I feel good and like I’m making progress, but the slightest discrepancy with the numbers sends me into overdrive (this is a lifetime of obsessing with weight). If I didn’t have to weigh in every week for medication provider, I wouldn’t.

For me I try to think of it as just a guide…you’ll find examples on here of people gaining/losing pounds with literally just hours between their weigh ins…don’t read so much into it.

do you have to weigh yourself personally and send to provider or do you pop along for a F2F? If the latter ask them to update you on the numbers monthly instead of weekly?

@Mum2Fergus Thank you. Good advice. It’s hard undoing decades of Scales Watching. Mostly I feel fine - definitely better than when I started MJ in Feb.
I have to weigh-in every week with a shot of the number on the scales! I start to dread it for about 24 hours in advance. And yet in all other areas - zero food noise, etc - this whole process feels so positive. Clearly some work still left to do!

narkyspirit · 10/05/2025 09:14

Beginning of week 15 2nd 7.5 jab this morning

Sw 95.6 (BMI 37)

Cw 84.4 (BMI 32.5)

Average loss has been 0.82 Kg weekly some weeks its been higher worst week was 0.4Kg gain which was a bit disappointing but back on track now.

I'm not counting calories as such but changed portion size and fasting 16 - 18 hours. I can still eat a large bar of chocolate and not worry about it.

There have been a couple of comments in the gym recently about the change of shape as stomach has changed significantly in the last few weeks so more noticeable now

WLINewbie · 10/05/2025 09:20

Good morning everyone

Day 1 of Week 13 for me today. Took full 5mg dose again after a few weeks of building back up to it.

Had a good week, eating well, enjoying the foods I've always loved, had nice dinners out, had treats, upped my gym sessions and hoping this will be sustainable post MJ. I've been mindful to try stick to normality whilst on the jabs, just less of it. My body doesn't seem to react to any food, I could have any grease laden dish followed by a massive cake and be fine. I've not vomited or had a single sulphur burp.

Saying that, I had a lot of suppression and nausea on 5mg previously so will see how this week goes.

Currently wearing an old (very old) pair of jeans with a 28inch waist, they're not loose but did up easy and there's definitely room.

Checked my weight this morning which puts me at BMI of 24.1, I'll check tonight and record that weight, not sure I'll be under 25 but hoping so.

Time to change into my gym clothes, I'd set my alarm to go to a morning body pump class but ended up watching telly with a cuppa instead.

W12 Day 1

SW on 22/02: 16st 5
CW on 10/05: 14st 5
Loss this week: 1lb
Total loss: 2st

That's 2 stone gone and my first goal met 🎉

Only down 1lb this week but it's a loss after another weird and inconsistent week. I've taken my first 7.5mg jag this morning so expecting lots more side effects. Hopefully one of them is to stop me thinking about crisps again.

NSV: my shadow is skinny 😆

Shefliesonherownwings · 10/05/2025 10:51

Morning all, it’s been a crazy week so haven’t kept up with the thread. Week 11 for me and weigh in and Jab day. After putting 2lbs on last week whilst on holiday, I’ve managed to lose it which I’m pleased with. I’ve been taking 3.75mg but I really didn’t feel like it was doing much this week. I’ve got my first 5mb pen ready but I’m wondering whether to do 4mg or 4.5 or do I just give 5 a go. I’ve had some bad side effects initially on 2.5 (vomiting and diarrhoea) and I’m away again this weekend so I’m reluctant to do a full dose in case I get the same side effects. Argh decisions 😆

SansaClegane · 10/05/2025 13:32

@Mum2Fergus someone upthread said to have a hot drink before bed and that can loosen things up so to speak...
Pleased to report I was finally able to "go" after my coffee this morning! I think I've just been too stressed / rushed this week to be able to relax, and MJ doesn't help as I find it makes me constipated anyway. Hoping that it'll result in a bit more weight loss now 😳

SansaClegane · 10/05/2025 13:34

@WLINewbie can I ask what your starting weight was and when you started? As a 24 BMI is already well within the healthy range, which I can currently still only dream of! (Started with a BMI of 33, now at 27, 13 weeks in)

MynameisJune · 10/05/2025 15:59

NSV today I’ve walked around in a dress without needing chub rub shorts! Not something I ever thought would happen being a pear shape!

Hi

I started at 11st6, full disclosure I took advantage of the post christmas/new year bloat and ordered as it gave me a BMI of just over 30.

I don't usually weigh myself but had to for ordering. I think I lost about 8lb the first month, mainly water weight. When I moved up to 5mg the weight fell off me but I felt sick a lot and struggled to eat plus was exhausted. That's not what I wanted so reduced the dose and been losing about 1lb a week whilst I work back up. I need this to be sustainable so not chasing full suppression, I eat all foods and still have treats. I do classes at the gym and upped my walking now the weather is nice.

This morning I weighed 9st2 which I can't quite get my head around, I'll be weighing this eve and taking heavier one as official.

There's less than 2 stone between my BMI being normal to obese! I've still got a high body fat percentage and share some of the sentiments of people not looking how they'd imagined at a particular weight.

SpiralSister · 10/05/2025 18:33

NSV today - size 14 jeans ordered from Vinted to ‘slim into’ fit perfectly.

Haven't been a 14 in jeans for over 20 years..

skyscrapersinging · 10/05/2025 18:45

Have had both a NSV and a SV today- NSV was easily fitting into some new cargo pants that I bought as “thinspiration” a few weeks ago. Size 12, admittedly they are probably a little generous with the sizing, every other new piece I’ve bought has been size 14, but I’m taking the win! (Seeing I started the year in very snug size 16, really should’ve been in size 18). SV is that I’ve realised I’ve just passed 2 stone weight loss (12.8kg- wasn’t born in UK so my brain doesn’t do imperial, I always think in metric!). Am so thrilled. Joint pain far less, almost gone. New clothes in a size I was 10-15 years ago. I’ve started running again, my BMI is in the healthy range (just). I assume my BP and cholesterol is probably better, but haven’t tested. My asthma is also waaaaay better than it’s been for ages.😊

WoolerOwl · 10/05/2025 20:47

I had a sneaky weight in yesterday, half way through the month. End of week ten. I've lost another 1.5kg in the last two weeks. 14.5kg in total. BMI 28.6 (down from 33). Goal is 69kg (BMI 23), which is another 14.5 kg to go. When I lose another kg, I will be half way there.

I feel I have less suppression and satiety on my second month of 5mg, and the weight loss has slowed a bit, so I will move up to 7.5mg next month. Trying to use willpower in the meantime!

Had a big wardrobe clear out today. Lots of cheap skinny jeans in size 16 are now in a pile to go to the charity shop along with some frumpy dresses and cropped trousers.

Tried on the size 12 Tu and M&S barrel jeans that I bought a while ago to slim into, and they do up now. Bought size 12 cream barrel chinos from M&S and black linen culottes from Cos this afternoon, and the culottes fit brilliantly (elasticated waist!) and the chinos will be ok after a couple more kilos. Also a navy linen jacket from Toast in a 14 which looks amazing.

I am feeling so pleased with myself! It feels a bit unreal. I dread something going wrong, like not being able to buy MJ any more. No reason to think that, though. My local pharmacist, linked to my GP practice, is where I buy and they are very supportive. I guess it's just fear. I want to get to goal and then use a maintenance dose for a while and taper off. I also plan to up my exercise now that I am feeling healthier and more bouncy.
