Welcome to the latest thread, all WL warriors welcome as always.

Congrats to us all for our achievements and NSVs so far. And props for all the support, encouragement and kindnesses throughout.

Feel we’re breaking the back of this now! Base camp is firmly in our rear view and we’re climbing on … will some start to see the summit in the distance, over the course of this thread? That is pretty darn exciting!

No matter what your pace, and if you’ve lost a microwave, a tin of paint or 192,000 bees: well done!

xx

I've just done my height to waist circumference ratio. Height 173cm. Waist 97cm. Ratio: 0.56, which is in the middle of the amber increased risk range. A good reminder that I need to keep going and lose the next 16kg.

On the other hand, last night I put some summer pyjamas on that I haven't worn since before I started MJ. They have a knotted waist. Where I had last knotted it was way too big now; it looked about 5cm too big. So the comfort is that my ratio is better than it was 3 months ago.

I am pleased that I feel better and am enjoying size 12-14 clothes. But I need to keep my focus on losing the rest. This is for my long term health.

ivegotthekeyivegotthesecret · 03/05/2025 11:20

I agree on cutting out crap and less refined carbs makes many feel better physically and mentally.

It's also really important for people to find a way that is right for them.

For example, I love carbs and consider them the essential fuel for my macro based diet. I am also a strong believer in macros.
This approach won't work for some people and that's fine - each to their own.

I bought some sourdough bread after I posted this morning. Glad to say I enjoyed it and I enjoyed the enjoyment. I can be such a simple creature...

Hi Everyone

Day 1 of week 12 for me today. Took 55 clicks of my 5mg pen as I gradually work back to the full dose.

Interesting chat about food enjoyment, i still çrave, look forward to and enjoy my meals and snacks. My issue before wasthat I couldn't eat enough and would gorge then be hungry again an hour later at most. I could eat the biggest portions of food then have a family sized chocolate bar and never feel full. On MJ I'm satiated with a normal portion sized meal which is a joy.

The chocolate cravings have definitely snuck back in and I really need to work on that.

I'm v close to a normal BMI now, in fact my morning weight has be normal but my evening weight has me at 25.1 😂😂😂. I've decided, for the first time ever, to stick with the evening weight as my official one. Need to think about what to do when my current pen is finished but that's next months problem! Pretty much everyone has noticed my loss, funny how I was in denial about how big I'd got, didn't think it was that noticeable!!

Fantastic, @Mounjaroday ! Also, we weigh the same! 😂

Oh the belly. Well, it’s a disaster area. Flatter? Yes. Able to comfortably fit a 16, heading to 14? Yes. Saggy and generally in need of a tummy tuck? Hell yes! Not that I will. I’ll just revel in smaller pants and put up with it.

Can we talk bras? I just don’t know what to do. I am generously busted. A lot less so now though. And my back is much slimmer. I need new bras. Cheap ones are really not cutting it. I am deeply reluctant to shell out £45 a pop on the quality I need when I still have at least 2 stone to lose.

What are you all doing about this, if you are of the bosoms?

I was clearly squeezing my boob's into bras that didn't fit as mone still fitm although I only wear crop top type bras rather than full under wire do up ones.
I notice there's less volume now though, generally they are pointing more and more to my toes 😜🤣

ThatJoyousHazelDuck · 03/05/2025 15:14

After being dissapointed with staying the same on Thursday, I had a sneaky weigh this morning and I'm 1.6kg down 🎊

It's strange how much that little number can motivate me to just keep going.

Mounjaronewbie25 · 03/05/2025 18:40

Good evening all, injection and weigh in day for me and I am delighted as have finally hit 4 stone total loss! Have never lost that much weight ever! 2stone 2.5 of that was with Mounjaro.

Highest weight - 16st 9.5
Mounjaro SW on 15.2.25 - 14st 12
CW - 12st 9.5

Loss this week: 3 lb
Total loss on Mounjaro: 30.5 lbs (2st 2.5)
Total loss overall: 56 lbs (4 stone)

SansaClegane · 03/05/2025 22:24

Still here...!

Have been struggling with increased food noise and even stuffing my face with crap again on the odd occasion this week. Started my first 7.5mg pen today, so I'm hoping this will change. Makes me a bit nervous about going forward / maintaining in the long run though?

The stats:

SW 210.4 lbs
CW: 172.8 lbs

= 37.6 lbs down in 12 weeks

Which is not at all bad I think!! Also did this height / waist ratio thing and apparently it's 0.49 which puts me just within the healthy range. That said I'm a natural hourglass shape, so even when fat my waist is reasonably small.
Definitely feeling the clothes fitting better and even loose now, tried some dresses this week that I hadn't dared to wear in ages! Still, only one person IRL has so far commented on the weight loss - so can't be that obvious after all? Confused

Slowrunning · 04/05/2025 08:13

So….. I just ordered a size 14 dress on Vinted. I am definitely not a size 14 but for the first time in many years I feel confident that by the summer holidays I will be. I have never bought clothing in a smaller size but I am going to use it as motivation. I think it must be 15-20 years since I was in a 14 last!

To give context I was 105kg at the beginning of the year and am 85kg this morning.

SpiralSister · 04/05/2025 08:26

Fantastic, @Slowrunning ! I think that belief that you will get there is the truly different thing about being on MJ.

I ordered a pair of size 14 jeans on Vinted last night. I’m a 16 now, but they are becoming a little loose. I even turned off my size 16 personalisation in the search bit. Committed! 😂

I was wearing an 18-20 3 months ago. It’s a miracle!

Slowrunning · 04/05/2025 08:31

That’s totally it @SpiralSister this is the first time in a weight loss journey that I have ever felt confident that I will get to goal. I know it will take a while but I know I can do it - and that feels amazing!

I knew you lot would understand 😀

I was a definite size 20 in January and I will be going out for lunch today in a nicely fitting 16. ❤️

aylis · 04/05/2025 09:00

I'm so envious of people buying smaller jeans 😬I've lost almost 2 stone but as a pp mentioned, all that's really happened for the most part is the realisation just how much I was squeezing into clothes that were too small (and in hindsight, extremely uncomfortable). So those clothes are fitting better and I fit comfortably into one size 16 dress, but there's absolutely no sign of me getting into my size 16 jeans that I had stopped wearing, never mind a smaller size! I REALLY want to back in jeans soon.

SpiralSister · 04/05/2025 09:43

I guess the advantage of that, @aylis , is that at least you have some clothes ready to slim into! That will feel fantastic!

I have been fat for so long, that I had no smaller sizes. Literally nothing. I’ve had to buy an entire new wardrobe (from Vinted!), and fully expect to do the same again later in the year. It’s really, really fun though!

eleanorwish · 04/05/2025 09:43

I’m still waiting to down a jeans size! I think it’s mainly to do with my changing shape post menopause. The only thing keeping my size 20’s up is my belly! Last time I was this weight I was definitely an 18. Hips and thighs would fit fine, it’s just the belly!

WoolerOwl · 04/05/2025 09:58

I agree about the belly. My hips are quite slim. My thighs etc are a bit wobbly. But it's the stomach that fills the jeans! If someone could just slice off the equivalent of a front carried bum bag, I'd look fine.

Mounjaroday · 04/05/2025 10:03

Amazing hearing how everyone is getting on.

Had a realisation in the John Lewis changing rooms yesterday: my thighs are a disaster zone. So soft and wobbly. But at least they match my weird jelly tummy and bingo wings.

Anyone having success toning up?

Errrrrr - nope!

I feel like I am getting wrinklier by the day 😂
My tummy is soooo squishy now But as I haven’t worn a bikini since I was about 18 I don’t really care too much!

This is my body, with all its wrinkles, lines and squishy bits. It has done a lot in it’s 50 years and no matter what other people think I am proud of it.

No but i stood looking in the mirror this morning thinking i hope my DD boobs survive this (no hope!) 🤣 ill have saggy tits i expect

Mounjaronewbie25 · 04/05/2025 11:30

So many random NSV, my engagement ring has been falling off, got re-sized the other day and I have lost 3 ring sizes! Never thought my fingers were particularly big to begin with.

Weather was lovely yesterday so got a pair of strappy sandals out of the wardrobe, they were still a bit loose pulled as tight as they would go! Again, I never thought I had particularly chunky feet before. Mounjaro seems to target the weight a bit differently.

Oh and DP the other day told me my arms look less ‘army’ 🤣 guess that was a rather clumsy way of saying my arms are getting smaller.

PurpleCoo · 04/05/2025 13:45

Regarding toning, my legs, even though large aren't wobbly. I do about 3 hours swimming a week, and do at least 90mins of brisk walking a day. I'm a walker though, so often do more at weekends or when away camping (which is frequent). This isn't much of a change to my usual activity levels though, and my legs have always been pretty solid due to years of legwork (literally)

The top half of my belly is relatively slim and I have always been an hourglass. However, my lower belly and upper arms are disproportionate to the rest of me, and it looks awful and makes me look even fatter than I actually am.

I started body pump a few weeks ago, so I guess it's too early to say if it helps, but even though I am now a 14, I'm probably the flabbiest person in there and you are surrounded by mirrors and my belly just looks hideous when I am doing squats and it bunches up. I'm not ashamed to go though, and just think if all those ladies (many are older than me) are lean and toned due to the class, I have picked the right one, so I find it inspiring. You have to do it 2-3 times a week to get the benefit apparently and keep upping the weights as you progress.

I also know I just need to keep losing weight. I am still in the obese range, so hoping things will improve. I have about 5kg to go until I a weight weigh I feel I like reasonably decent, although technically overweight.

ivegotthekeyivegotthesecret · 04/05/2025 13:50

DH worked last night so I managed to have my fries in peace. The portion was deliberately quite small (60g or about 25 fries ) but it made me laugh a portion size is supposed to be 75g.

I could just about stuff that many in my mouth when I'm prepping dinner. Anyhow I really enjoyed them and it was yet another reminder how I've put on weight through extra calories here and there rather than lots of big meals or bingeing.

NSVs
Today's hike was somewhere I haven't been since I weighed 3 stone more. Felt so much easier today.

Launched myself onto DHs lap this morning and didn't worry about squashing him. He wasn't so amused all the same. 😁

stargazer02 · 04/05/2025 16:27

Have been terrible at remembering to post weekly or catch up do just going to jump back in here.
SW 13th Feb 17 stone
CW 4th May 14 stone 7lbs
Total loss 2.5 stone in just under 3 months.

Just about to move up to 7.5mg pen, and hoping lack of side effects continues.

I'm mostly noticing it around my face. I had been looking super puffy, double chin and a bit grey. Now face is far slimmer and I just look brighter.

I also think my feet are shrinking! Normally need x-wide shoes but just had to send them all back as too roomy!

Bought a lovely dress to celebrate my first goal (under 15st as I'd got to 15st on other diets but never under, and had regained). Also got a smaller pair of exercise leggings and some smaller bras on the way.
I do need other clothes but I'm hoping to live in dresses for the summer as it's more size flexible. And been walking so much my trainers have a hole 😳 so need to replace those too.

Hi all, hope everyone is doing well. We’ve just come back from a week away. I had a week’s break from taking my injection and just taken my last dose of 3.75. I enjoyed the holiday but definitely overindulged the last couple of days as the suppression wore off. Weighing in this morning I’ve gained 2lbs. Will hopefully be back into it this week after my injection. Still a stone down in 9 weeks though which I’m happy with. I do definitely need to work on my willpower and mental attitude towards food because I could feel myself slipping back into old habits. Clearly a lot of work to do on re framing my thinking.

I worry about this in the future when I’ve stopped MJ. “Mental attitude” and “reframing”, indeed. Also things like holidays, as you have found. I’m concerned, I won’t lie.

GoodCharl · 04/05/2025 17:42

Re coming off MJ…I guess its going to take a lot of will power and to put in place my healthy food planning ive been doing. Im loving feeling better in myself, clothes getting too loose etc. never say never but i hope ill never be a size 18 again in my lifetime. Its going to cost me a lot to lose this weight so i dont want to waste my money but indulging and putting it all back on again

cheeky mid week weigh in today and another 2lbs lost and delighted to be in the 15s!

SW 17.3 stones
CW 15.13 stones
-18lbs

Febnewbie · 04/05/2025 18:00

I am also worried about coming off MJ but my plan is basically to do so really gradually and I am open to the idea of not coming off it
