Cut off from Mounjaro

I’ve been getting Mounjaro from MedExpress since January. They have now emailed to say they will no longer prescribe the treatment as they’ve been told by my GP that I’ve previously had a gastric sleeve. This isn’t true (although I did have something similar, which I told them about in January when I first applied). I’ve spoken to my GP and they’ve corrected my medical records but MedExpress just say no more pens for me.

I’ve tried elsewhere but as my BMI is now in the healthy range, I can’t get anyone to prescribe. I still have at least a stone to lose and did plan on staying on the 2.5 pen even when at goal, as I have a history of yo-yoing.

Does anyone have any advise? Or know of anywhere who will prescribe with a healthy BMI? TIA

Have you shown the new providers proof that you’ve been prescribed recently?

There is a list of providers who do maintenance on the monj site. They should take you on as long as you have proof of previous prescribing history.

I’ve been asked by one of three to provide proof of previous prescriptions - the other two didn’t have the option but I did write it all in the notes - still got rejected though. The third one is the last one I’m waiting to hear back from so I have my fingers crossed.

Sorry to hear things have gone pear shaped for you! Most pharmacies will take you on with proof. Where have you tried so far?

The second thread today where ME has just cut someone off. I despair.

There’s been discussion on reddit about ME stopping the referral discounts (being forced to by the GPhC and ASA!) so I wonder if they’ll eventually fade away…

@IReallyNeedThisToWork I saw that too. I really hope so, my view is that they are seriously unethical and not patient focused.

@CandyMandy9 have you tried pill sorted? They do maintenance right down to BMI of 19. My BMI is now 26, I sent them a picture of my last prescription and they prescribed MJ for me.

Try oushk, their owner is an obesity expert and they provide consultations and a fbook support page. They also consider cases individually.
