Hi!

Please may I join? I’m not quite sure how forums work but it would be nice to have some company on this journey as I don’t feel able to tell my family and friends.

I’m hoping to lose 10-15kg (ideally 15kg). On day 5 of my first injection. Days 2-4 my appetite was beautifully suppressed. I had never realised how much food noise I was experiencing before. It was still there but the best way to describe it was dull rather than the usual sharp and acute, so it was easily ignored. Yippee. Day 5 and wearing off. Also very tired and sleeping badly but my job (self-employed) is very stressful and financially scary at the mo. But I need to invest in me too.
Weight loss has been impossible since having my baby 3yrs ago. I have hypothyroidism (on levothyroxine but not sure if it does much good!!) and due to allergies (little one’s and mine) am vegan plus eggs. I walk on average 12-25,000 steps per day and have for years, I also do weights 2-3 times a week and swim when I can (single mum so childcare limits it a bit but that’s fine). I don’t binge exactly, but I do snack on toddler leftovers etc and my meals arent huge but I tend to eat the same 2-3 meals on repeat. It helps keep costs down & there’s not much enjoyment cooking an adult meal for one after bedtime. I’ve found it so upsetting to be my size, plus diastasis after delivery, arthritis (that was a surprise) and my boobs (sorry TMI) have always been so huge and I hate it. Praying mounjaro works but I know I have to put in the work too. How is everyone doing?

Hi sounds like you doing everything right with your exercise, can’t be easy fitting it in with your little one !
Nothing wrong with eating same meals as long as you getting nutrients, drinking water helped me a lot at the beginning as I got some headaches, some indigestion too. Only got bad tummy side effect after eating very fatty takeaway meal too quickly.
I started Sept I had a break from it for various reasons from end Dec to end Feb. Only ever went up to 3.75 but when I restarted in March found 2.5 not as affected so am now on 5. Altogether have lost 2 stone 6 pounds another half stone to go then will be healthy weight. Very active too which has helped me starting to try and increase my strength training as been doing more cardio.
It feels amazing to wear the clothes I want, feel got the old me back and not controlled by food !
Now can really enjoy eating out occasionally and having what I want rather than what I think has less calories so don’t feel deprived like I always use to.
Good luck and I have found this forum an amazing support with people that understand how you feel x

Thank you so much. You’ve done so well! What great weight loss. It must be thrilling!
That’s a really good reminder about water. I’ll take that onboard (apologies for the pun). I don’t drink nearly enough! I’m glad it helped with your headaches. Bit headachey here too, and very tired but that could also be being a toddler mum with a dodgy thyroid! My tummy has been okay, touch wood, but (TMI), my period has not arrived which I’ve read can be a side effect, though it’s usually the reverse. Definitely not pregnant though!

Thank you! I’m very new to forums of any kind so I’m unsure of the etiquette etc.
Apologies, I thought that this was the April 2025 starters thread. Must go back and check now. I started this month.

I hope it goes well for you. This is quite the journey! I was a bit intimidated by the written instructions despite the illustrations when I got my first pen a week ago. I watched a YouTube video for the right one, just in case as well, which helped. I was worried about messing it up and wasting an expensive dose! Fingers crossed for us all!

Where did you order from? I want to start but I’m not sure which companies are reputable and which actually have stock.

Gotmyfingerstighycrossed · 18/04/2025 18:11

IQ Doctor in my case. They were very good

Hi I did lots of research before starting as I wanted a reputable company but also not paying through the roof. I've used ZAVA for my 1st pen and found them good. I applied on a Monday evening and was approved and had my 1st dose that Friday evening so 4days in total which I thought was great.

ZAVA is the company that Asda use but it's cheaper to go directly to them. I also have a discount code for your first order which brings it to just under £105 (before delivery).
PM me for the code if you would like it 😊 (I can't post it here or my comment would get deleted by MN) X

1dontunderstand · 19/04/2025 10:43

@SausageRoll90 I have dm'd you for the code. I hope you don't mind.

1dontunderstand · 19/04/2025 10:45

@Gotmyfingerstighycrossed did you consult a gp regarding your hypothyroidism before you started the jabs?
I am deep in perimenopause and recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I have a gp consult this coming week and I'm hoping to start the injections at the end of April.

Hi,
Hypothyroidism isn’t a contraindication for mounjaro as long as there’s no history of thyroid cancer in your family, and obviously I guess your numbers need to be okay and the dose of levothyroxine appropriate.
i get my levels checked every 6 months.
it certainly makes weight loss a lot harder, hence mounjaro.
You may feel lots better once you are on the levo. I don’t find it much help but my dose is relatively small in comparison to some people’s I think. I’m sure you’ll be okay with it all.

@SausageRoll90 I've just placed my order using your code. Thank you so much

1dontunderstand · 21/04/2025 21:17

@FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee I have a discount code if you need it

Hi yeah the code is for the 1st order only but can be used by more than one person so if you want I'll drop it over via PM so you can use it if you want😊
