Side effects after Mounjaro....

I was taking Mounjaro to lose weight in preparation for IVF treatment and successfully lost 50lbs, absolutely over the moon.
The journey took 5 months, and throughout that time I experienced on and off gastro side effects but nothing too major.

I've came off Mounjaro (cold turkey as advised by my prescriber) and for the last 3 days I've had the most awful stomach cramps. I thought it was trapped wind initially, but the fact it's been ongoing for 3 days makes me think otherwise. The pain is like clockwork around 4pm and eases off around 11pm. Does anyone have experience with coming off the jabs and side effects that could help? I really don't think it's a bug as I feel okay up until the afternoon.

Thanks in advance 😊

That sounds like it could be gallstones. See doctor.

I thought the advice was to take a maintenance dose and gradually reduce it. I've taken two months building up to 7.5mg and that's nowhere near the full dose of 15mg. Whatever dose I get to when I'm at goal, I intend to adjust downwards again in a similar timescale.

But yes, any severe and enduring stomach pain should be investigated.

You need to speak to a doctor as it could be gallstones. This could be as a result of the jab or the big weight loss.
I stopped MJ over 2 months ago ‘cold turkey’ but I didn’t exceed 5mg for the 20 weeks that I was on it. I don’t have any side effects but then, I didn’t have any besides constipation when I was on it either.
I hope you get relief from the pain

It is weird that you received advice to stop cold turkey - were there reasons for that?

Thanks everyone for your replies, I will definitely call the doctor tomorrow. I have a private GP package through work so luckily can ring them on a bank holiday.
I messaged my prescriber advising of the situation that I intended to stop taking Mounjaro in preparation for IVF and I specifically asked if I needed to titrate downwards, their reply was no I can simply stop taking it. I wasn't impressed actually that this was all the info that was given and maybe I should have got a second opinion in hindsight. 😩😩 I was on 7.5mg at the time of stopping as stayed on the same doses at times.
