would you titrate up or stay at 2.5mg?

I have just taken my 3rd injection of 2.5mg last night. the 1st week I lost 2kg and felt that I would just stick at 2.5mg when it came to ordering again. but this week I only lost 0.5kg despite appetite being equally suppressed and adhering to 1200cals a day easily.

should I go up to 5mg with next order as recommended? I don't understand how it would improve weight loss because I shouldn't eat less than 1200cal should I?

I would order a 5mg pen as you dont know how youll feel a couple of weeks time.

Then if you want to stay on 2.5mg dose just do 30 clicks of the pen instead of 60.

This also gives you the option of a bridging dose of 3.75mg which is 45 clicks. This is off piste though, so at your own risk, and not how the medication is directed to be taken.

I only lose 1lb a week every week and my calorie deficit is 1200 too. I am only 11st though.

Are you on 2.5, or 5?

Neither I'm on 10mg and I've been on it 6 months. If you're calorie deficit is 1200, you must not very fair from a normal bmi as that tends to be for a lower weight person. I tend to eat 900-1100 usually.

I'm personally planning to stick to 2.5 unless I completely stop losing on it (i.e. no loss in an entire month).

I am worried about the side effects at higher doses and I think it will be easier to maintain weight loss if I stick to 2.5mg (i.e. continuing to use 2.5 for maintenance or coming off). These are just my thoughts though.

I think you are right to stick to 1200cal/day and not drop below that. You need to burn 2200/day to get a 2lb loss which is a lot - I do approx 20,000 steps to do this according to my FitBit.

oh!! regardless of whether or not to titrate...that would be a cost effective way of taking 2.5mg wouldn't it, buying the 5mg pens and taking half doses?? bloody genius

oof! I'm disabled so I do 6000 at a push unfortunately. planning to get back to the gym a couple of days a week. but my loss is going to have to be about cutting calories rather than burning them or I will crash out

it just feels so torturously SLOW though doesn't it?! 😭 I'm sure it will feel better once I have accumulated some more 1lb losses

Ah your calorie deficit doesn't sound right then, should it be a little higher? Have you worked it on a TDEE?

I wouldn't be surprised from your height and step count if you're burning around 1700 and eating 1200, so 500/cal deficit/day = 1lb/week.

It sounds slow but it's 52lbs/23.5kg a year. It will add up!

Google TDEE calculator. 1200 sounds low.

@eckyfumpI’m at the same stage as you. I ordered a 5mg pen. Planning to give half doses until I feel I might need to go up. But as I can’t foretell how I’ll be it’s better to have higher dose pen in case 2.5 loses effective
