Hi. Looking for advice as I’m thinking about starting this but feel scared! What’s everyone’s story who are on it.

It’s worth scanning through the threads on here - the April starters thread will tell you the experience of people who’ve recently started.
I started last September and have lost nearly 3 stone… this has been slower than a lot of people but I’m happy with it. I was terrified of the injections at first but once you’ve done it once it’s easy. There are lots of YouTube videos that can help talk you through it.

I was lucky with side effects, my husband suffered more than I did but they’ve calmed down now.

it’s still a surprise to me when I leave food on my plate or forget to have lunch… and when my jeans are too big for me! It’s honestly changed my life.

No need to feel scared, it’s a life changer
for most people.

Im 2 stone down. Only side effect is tiredness.

I started about 5 weeks ago, I’m 1 stone down. No terrible side affects, but I’m still on 2.5mg.

Hi. Looking for advice as I’m thinking about starting this but feel scared! What’s everyone’s story who are on it.

I get this and didn’t even consider it until a friend was losing weight and shared how. Suddenly, someone I know being on it made it far less scary. I started in November and I’m so so glad I did. After about 2 years of failed diets I’ve lost 2.5 stone and am feeling myself again.

My early side effects were being cold and tiredness. As I increased the strength the side effects disappeared.

I started last October and have lost just over 4 stone, it has changed my life. I don't think about food between meals and have. Added a reminder on my phone to remind me to eat lunch as it is important not to just stop eating. I was terrified of the injections and my daughter did them for the first 2 months until I picked up courage to do it myself. I do feel queasy the day after my jab when I move up a dose but anti sickness pills work wonders as it is only the first dose after the increase .I would say go for it, it really is a life changer

I'm in a different position to most people on these threads. I'm prescribed it by my GP to control my blood sugars. I had a BMI of just over 27 when I started, so I was overweight but far from obese.

I did have side effects - 2 days after my first jab I suddenly lost control of my bowels, didn't even make it to the bathroom which was horrendous. But luckily that was a one off for that dosage - it happened again when I moved up to 5mg and then again (although not so badly) when I moved to 7.5.

I'm losing about 1lb per week but that's fine as I'm not that bothered about weight loss. If you have a lot to lose, I think you'll lose more quickly.

Started in July 2024 at 13st 4, now 8st 9 and been maintaining since Xmas. Minimal side effects throughout (never went above 7.5mg) and now titrating back down.

worth every penny (I’ve lost 4st before after pregnancies but this time around I have almost no cellulite which at 48 years old feels like a miracle!)

thanks everyone, you’ve all done so well. I’ll keep you posted how I get on when I start. Feeling fat & need to get my confidence back :(

It's like giving up smoking with a Nicotine patch. It works for some people and not for others. I am currently on 15mg and averaging 0.6kg loss per week for the past 10 months, some of it on mounjaro some of it not. If I was to be honest I have lost more when I was off it, but the momentum fizzled out and needed help. 2.5mg was very strong and lost loads, but then I didn't really feel much until 12.5mg. I have been able to eat all the way through but it has stopped my need to binge eat. I am never going to reach a healthy weight but will be somewhere close. One thing I have learnt about myself is my issue with food is more of a mental problem and will have to seek additional help. I am not sure if my hormone is the issue, this I wouldn't have found out without mounjaro.
