Every day is a struggle

I feel everyone's pain. I really struggle to eat on 2.5 mg. Lucky if I eat 600 calories a day. I drink lots and lots tho.... Today I've managed an apple, some veg with chicken and I can't face anything else. Supposed to be going up to 5 mg sat ( not today, next sat) not really sure I shud as the food suppression is so strong. I've lost 20 lbs in 4 weeks.

Then absolutely don't. There's no one size fits all. If it's working (too well by the sounds of it) at 2.5 stay there surely?

Askingpins · 12/04/2025 22:00

For goodness sake don’t go up a dose!

If anything, half it (1.25 mg)

VelociraptorsVelociRapping · 12/04/2025 22:03

I’m going to be blunt: you would be absolutely mad to go up to 5mg if you’re experiencing such strong suppression on 2.5mg. Don’t do it. Stay on 2.5 for as long as it is effective for you.

FortyElephants · 12/04/2025 22:05

Half the dose. You're clearly a super responder but this rate of weight loss is really not good and not to be encouraged. You need to take less of the medication so you can eat more.

Lovingthesunshinetoday · 12/04/2025 22:11

Do not go up to a higher dose. You should only do that if your appetite is not being suppressed by your current dose.

for some people it will mean taking the higher dose sooner than others.

i have found the 5mg dose to be perfect for me and definitely do not need to move up! I could go all day without eating or drinking a thing and have to remind myself to drink water otherwise I get dehydrated.

Adelstrop · 13/04/2025 12:01

Absolutely no need to go up a dose until you stop feeling the suppression. I'm still on 5 mg 8 months in, and only just losing the effects. You are one of the lucky ones in responding to a low dose, so why take more medication when you don't need it?

Pixienut2314 · 13/04/2025 15:15

Not sure what you mean by your comment? Why take the medication if I don't need it? Well I did need it as my health was suffering because of my weight. I still have alot of weight to lose.... I ordered the next dose because that's what the pharmacy suggested.

I am only going to inject 2.5 of the 5 pen. I can't afford right now to order again.

Don’t go up, your response may well level out soon as your body adapts but don’t ever go up until you feel ready to.
I struggled in the beginning to get the calories in but settled after a week or so. Even now 6 months in I have the odd day where I find it hard to eat enough but 95% of the time I can get to about 1300 ish calories okay.

That poster said why take MORE if you don't need it, they weren't questioning why you're on it in the first place!

Why would you need to order again? 30 clicks of a 5mg pen is 2.5mg. I really would advise you to dose even less since you're struggling to eat enough.

Pixienut2314 · 13/04/2025 15:53

I'm not going to. I'm going to take just 2.5 if I can.
