SheMed

Stayed my MJ journey on Saturday.
Didn't go with SheMed as I was concerned I would be rejected on my blood test based on having deranged Liver Function tests in the past (last lot were normal).
I've got clarification from SheMed that if I'm rejected based on my bloods I do get my £99 back now so I'm tempted to switch...
Anyone else switched to SheMed after starting, I'm only on 2.5mg and know they'll only support you if you start from the beginning.
But wondered what people's experiences with them were and if you'd recommend them?
I'm not sure I'm cut out for chasing the best prices and switching pharmacies here and there!! It's anxiety provoking.
I'm currently with Voy, as they sucked me in on a trial, but rejected me for the research and are getting me to pay full price, which is obviously rather costly.

I can’t advise on Shemed but there are other pharmacies that offer price match. This may be worth looking into if you don’t want to change suppliers and still get your medication at a competitive price.

Thanks @Time4changeagain
I've been researching that website like there's no tomorrow!!
I'm seriously obsessed, and don't need to order my next dose until after the Easter break (dose 3 is Easter Saturday).
I just don't know if I'd be better getting sent it regular, or I'd still be as obsessive x x x

My colleague is with Shemed and seems happy.... although she's barely lost any weight considering how long she's been on the injections

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 08/04/2025 17:10

I'm with Shemed and so far its been great. I'm 3 months in and everything has arrived on time and been really straight forward. They do oversee your dose more than those that just let you order whatever dose you want which you could see as a pro or a con depending how you see it.

For me the financial savings and peace of mind I don't have to shop around has been well worth it.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 08/04/2025 17:10

I've lost 2 stone over 3 months (although its not super visible as I'm morbidly obese) I think it varies - the actual drug is the same drug though.

TheFunkyDuckling · 08/04/2025 17:11

I guess that's a risk with any supplier though @NeedToAskPlease .
I don't suppose everyone reacts the same as the next.
I'm hoping this works for me. I've been a bit hungry today, and have allocated all my calories, but the food noise has deffo been hushed. Normally I'd have gone through a ton of biscuits by now x x x

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden yeah the peace of mind is very reassuring. X x

If you want Shemed they do ask you to do a blood test first so it is worth getting that sorted as its a while to post it/ few days to process then a few days before you get the pen (after that its really quick as you re-order after you take your 3rd dose).

They also start you at 2.5 but then move you up so if you're okay with another month at 2.5 it can be worth it?

Also its only the first month at 99 then its 159. Current average schedule is 1 pen 2.5, 3 pens 5, then you go up but it depends on your weight loss and side effects.

Time4changeagain · 08/04/2025 17:34

@TheFunkyDuckling Yeah I get the obsession, I was the same when I first started. I’m 11month in now & only check just before I order 😂
Shemed does sound very expensive though, especially if theres a chance they don’t move you up through the doses each month too. You can get 15mg pens cheaper than £159!

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 08/04/2025 17:48

Yes I was lucky to get it for 99 so they've been fab at that price point!

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 08/04/2025 17:51

Out of curiosity where is cheaper/cheapest then?

Medexpress starts at 150 and their higher doses are 200!!

I don't need to worry about it for 9 months but will be looking then.

TheFunkyDuckling · 08/04/2025 17:58

Thanks I had a peek. So many I've not heard of! And most are really quite expensive aren't they.

When my year is up I definitely won't be chopping and changing each month and want one that's reliable. It may well be I stay on shemed if they still do 150 as that seems reasonable. Compared to most on that site! I will have to look in December. I guess it will look different again by the with some NHS provision and possibly more restrictions.

Good luck whichever you go for OP.

SilenceInside · 08/04/2025 18:23

You would need to take into account referral codes and new customer discounts. If you use a referral code for MedExpress then it’s £40 off, so the £150 becomes £110. If someone else uses your referral code then you get another £40 credit and so on. Most other providers have either referral codes or new customer discounts which reduces the price. And is the reason why people move suppliers to access those discounts.

I’ve paid less than £159 for a 7.5mg for a few pens now, due to moving and to discounts.

Hi all, im new here and hoping you lovelies can help me. i received my blood test kit from she med yesterday, i plan to do that tomorrow - just wondering what to expect from the onboarding call. I have scales but it doesn't mention height verification anywhere - do i need to run out for a tape measure? lol

Teacherontherunningmill · 18/06/2025 18:37

Hi, I have done the blood test but after 15 mins I had only filled half the vile. Is this going to be accepted do you think

Quite a few people struggled with that. You may not get the full blood test results, but maybe some. I think they often ask you to redo the test a bit down the line if the first was unsuccessful.

Im with shemed and have had two 2.5mg pens so far. I might stay on this for a third month so i wonder how i can get out of shemed contract, anyone tried? Thanks

Scarriff · 28/06/2025 18:54

What are you doing with the pens when you have used the medication?

They can go in the regular rubbish but make sure your needles go in your sharps bin

Marie980 · 23/01/2026 13:19
