I'm 24 stone with endometriosis and pcos and I struggle to lose weight. When I was younger it was so easy! My GP can't help.

You buy it privately from an online pharmacy. Go to monj.co.uk where you can find who sells 2.5mg (the starting dose), complete the pharmacy’s online consultation on their website, and if you meet the criteria they post you a pen which has four doses in it.

Shop around - Asda, Medexpress, Right angled etc. Complete the necessary details including some medical questions. may include requests for photos - some want one of you (full length), ID, you on a scale etc. will be reviewed and prescribed.

Do a bit of due diligence so you are aware of side effects etc too

If you haven’t already do a bunch of research. This is an amazing resource, find some decent articles on line (reputable sources not the daily mail). Take social media with a big pinch of salt although there can be some helpful stuff if you are judicious.

look at your budget and the price comparison site to work out how affordable this is for you. Don’t rely on people using your referral codes as there are so many floating about these days. I would say for me it’s turned out to be fairly cost neutral as I spend less on junk/takeaways and thats not uncommon although not universal.

read up on side effects. For a lot of us they come and go - I am having g a bad night because I have had a couple of days of eating lower quality food than I should and that is a trigger for me. Often I have nothing. For a lot of people they are manageable with over the counter remedies so be prepared.

don’t expect miracles. After the first weeks most people’s weight loss slows and that is good. Marathon not a sprint.

lower doses don’t always work and some people need to move up every pen. Others feel effects from the first jab. Both normal and down to your personal reactions but don’t feel disheartened if you don’t react to 2.5mg. Again despite what social media says, many don’t.

when all your ducks are in a row, have a go. You won’t know how it works for you until you try it. And you can stop if the side effects are too awful or if it doesn’t work for you. But if it does, enjoy! As it helps with inflammation and insulin resistance you may well find it works well for you.

i am 12 weeks in, about 5 stone overweight to start with and down a stone and a half. That’s not fast but steady and I average about a pound and a half a week (but some weeks more, some weeks stay the same - not linear). Best things for me are reduction in joint pain and ability to just stop when I’m full. Worse things are dodgy gastric stuff when I eat too much wheat or butter and feeling cold.

good luck!
