Other advantages to taking Mounjaro?

I’ve just started my weight loss journey and am hearing of other advantages people have experienced while being on the drug, such as more energy, no desire to smoke or drink, better sleep.

is this correct? It sounds like a wonder drug. Anything else I can look forward to?

thanks all ! Excited! Xxx

I’ve just found a photo from a couple of years ago and I never realised how awful I looked. 4 st 6lbs off since September, still got a long way to go but I’m halfway there. My psoriasis is also improving I’ve really noticed it the last couple of weeks

I don't think you look remotely awful in either pic! You look lovely. But what a brilliant weight loss and improved health!

Lillipops · 28/03/2025 16:01

@taylorswift1989yhankyou so much that’s very kind of you to say xx

bookworm1982 · 28/03/2025 17:06

Thanks everyone for all the responses. Blown away by some of them! I also suffer from IBS, would love it if those symptoms went.

however, perhaps I’m being a bit silly and impatient but I took my first dose on Tuesday night and I’m feeling absolutely nothing - still hungry all the time, and no side effects. My sister’s appetite went within 48 hours, and she had some side effects such as diarrhoea which h stopped after a few days.

i have under active thyroid - do you think my response is going to be slower for that reason?

xxx

Celebrating today - I crossed over the 3 stone lost boundary and now under 200lbs! Woooohhh!

happygertie · 28/03/2025 19:17

I have totally gone off alcohol since being on MJ. I also haven’t had a craving for any kind of takeaway, we used to have two a week. Even when I have an appetite and feel hungry it is never for fast food or takeaway.

shrinkingthiswinter · 28/03/2025 21:23

@Lillipops you look like a very nice, smiley, kind, fun person in both those pictures. Don’t ever say things like that to yourself!! But wow on the weight loss and self-care!

@Kaggi9 so many congratulations, that’s fantastic!

@bookworm1982 I've seen several people with those issues on this board say it took them a while to get going, so that might well be the case for you, but it will work. It’s important to work with the drug by eating lean protein for fullness. You don’t necessarily lose your sense of hunger, that’s not really the aim, but you get full quicker and for longer, especially if you eat protein.

Lillipops · 28/03/2025 21:42

@shrinkingthiswinter thankyou so much. I was looking at old pictures that popped up and I honestly didn’t realise I looked like that. At 23.5st I should’ve twigged 🤦‍♀️ I’m now even more smiley and fun and looking forward to losing the next 5 stone 🤞

Thank you! I don’t mind it being a little slow, just hope it does actually work! Xxx

My psoriasis has greatly improved, almost disappeared. 👌

Oh my gosh have just realised my citrate psoriasis is gone!! It would come and go before but have just realised I don’t have a single patch!!

Nutmuncher · 29/03/2025 09:24

@bookworm1982 congratulations on starting this exciting new chapter! .25 is a starting dose, yes some people can respond immediately but for others it takes a couple of weeks. Once the appetite suppression kicks in just make sure (as mentioned upthread) to eat lean protein and plenty of vegetables.

You will experience robust lasting results if you use time spent on the medication to learn new habits around food. Looking forward to updates on the benefits you notice too.

I used to have a really sharp mind. Great for remembering facts, figures, things to do etc. That disappeared at some point over the last decade. Was constantly a bit foggy and overwhelmed with the brain space everything took up.
That all disappeared in the first month.
It makes me feel so much younger again. Sincerely hope that stays.

Balloonney · 30/03/2025 16:27

My facial hair seems to grow more slowly now- I wonder if it's corrected a hormonal imbalance or similar that I didn't know i had?

shrinkingthiswinter · 30/03/2025 17:09

@Balloonney oh gosh yes that’s true! I went for my waxing the other day and noticed there wasn’t much mustache but didn’t think more about it. The random throat hair has gone too

IngoGreen · 30/03/2025 19:08

These posts are great reading. Ten days in I’m noticing I don’t see the inside of supermarkets anymore. Win win.

RhaenysRocks · 30/03/2025 20:19

Really keen to get going..just waiting for my pen to arrive!

wite · 30/03/2025 20:23

I honestly look ten years younger and feel it too. I’m off it and maintaining now but it’s changed my life

izzy2076 · 30/03/2025 20:46

Gum disease is much improved: no bleeding any more. I no longer have Bruxism. PMT is better and I’m no longer hot and sweaty. It’s done more for me than HRT has ever done.

zerofucksgivenever · 30/03/2025 21:19

I'm not as hangry, like I was an absolute dick
If I didn't eat loads.
I'm also not nearly as sweaty , maybe too
Cold actually but I'd rather that than always be so bloody hot
