First injection today!

Looking for some success stories from people who have around 2st to lose (starting BMI 31). Like how much did you lose in your first month? Obviously I know everyone is different. Im 5ft 7 and 90kg.

Just taken my first dose this morning and definitely feel a LOT less hungry. I've eaten 1048 calories which is absolutely crazy for me to get my head around and 90g protein.

I am also a regular gym goer, mostly weightlifting so if anyones got any tips on how I make sure I don't lose all of my gains. I already have protein supplements, clear whey, shakes, yoghurts etc.

Ok thanks I've had 72grams of protein, 1300 cals and I feel hungry.i have fage 0% Yogurt there so might try that tomorrow morning

First dose this morning, I’ve had a really good day, had chicken and grains for lunch and then again for supper, haven’t been hungry at all, had to make myself eat both meals. I know the effects are well documented and I’m less than 24 hrs in but I’m surprised how unhungry I am!

my muscles feel a bit sore, but I’m also due on so I don’t know which that’s a side effect of!

I started at 13.7 and I’m now 10.7 having being on the injection for 28 weeks (6 months). Here’s my map. Can’t grumble at all. Had some side effects but nothing major. As you can see, I didn’t go above 7.5mg as didn’t feel the need to. Good restriction overall. Good luck!

I just ordered my first..does not come with all the stuff you need? Or does it vary?

@RhaenysRocks It should come with at least 4 needles, and some alcohol wipes. One or two pharmacies make you order the needles separately, The Family Chemist is one of them but they are clear that you need to. When you ordered you should also have been asked if you needed a sharps bin, to dispose of the needles safely. If your pharmacy didn't supply a sharps bin you can order one from Amazon for a few pounds, the same with alcohol wipes.

Where did you order from?

To maintain muscle mass aim for 2g protein per kg of target bodyweight. So if you want to weigh 65kg aim for 130g. Re: not losing gains, lift heavy to failure (not sure what sort of weight lifting you do). 3-4 sets of 8-10. Last set should be a struggle to do 8.

Thank you. Its Curely. They were on the monj website with a decent discount and good reviews so my first pen was £114. It didn't mention a sharps box so I'll wait and see. How do you actually dispose of the sharps box? I used one when I was pregnant but I think the midwives or Dr just took it off me.

@RhaenysRocks I don’t know what Curely’s service is, but they should supply needles as without them you cannot actually use the medication. Disposing of a sharps box depends on your area. Some councils offer a free disposal service, some offer a paid for service, some places you might need to find a pharmacy that will take them. Your love council website should be able to offer advice.

Thanks..they've replied to confirm it comes with it all. I've got a short video call scheduled tomorrow before they send the package. Really keen to get started.

My needles werer in the bottom of the box - hidden in the frozen packs. Have a rummage?

@JudgingJudy I don't have it yet but I'm sure it will be fine. Been reading the "what I ate today" threads to get some ideas of what to have in the house. I hate the technicality of x grams of protein and macros etc so hoping to keep it simple and hope the jab works the way it should.

I'm the same @RhaenysRocks. I don't weigh chicken. I'm trying to make high protein choices, and modest portions

@MeridaBraveThanks for the tips. I do progressive loading, lots of heavy compounds and upper/lower splits 3 times a week. My main concern was being able to eat enough protein within the massive deficit but I don't think im doing too bad, managing about 1.5g/kg in around 1200 calories.

Weighed in and I have lost 6.5lbs in my first week, really happy with that, was expecting less!

Really started to feel the hunger and food noise yesterday but managed to push past it! Excited to see what the next week brings.

how has everyone else got on?

1st jab last night before bed. I've woken with a hangover head but wonder if it's just i was tense going to sleep. Fingers crossed for a good 1st week.

Did my first weigh in today as second injection tomorrow and I've lost 7lbs. Absolutely thrilled. It's been tough but now I can see it's worth it.

That’s a great first week! I am due to weigh on Wednesday, I haven’t had the best weekend - I completely forget to eat meals but had a few wines in the sunshine which went straight to my head!

How is everyone getting on. I'm almost finished with week 4 and 10lbs lost 🙌🏼. Got my 5mg to start week. I can definitely feel my clothes getting a bit looser now. Excited to see what month 2 brings

I’m 12lbs down as of this morning but due on my period tomorrow so my weight usually fluctuates slightly.

I’ve been finding it very easy but the last couple of days I’ve had terrible reflux and general tiredness. I was in bed for 8pm just to be lying down. It has 100% improved my sleep but I do find I’m desperate to get to sleep each night as well, a lot earlier than I usually would.
