Slow progress

Anyone else losing weight super slow on Mounjaro? Ive lost 6/7 kilos in 13 weeks! Most people have lost so much more. Everyone is noticing my weight loss but I just feel like it’s so SLOW. Social media doesn’t help because you see everyone has lost around 2/3 stones during this period. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this. Not sure what I’m doing wrong. I’m walking when I can, counting my calories and trying my best to eat healthy.

I haven't got any personal experience (still weighing it up if you pardon the expression!) but someone I know is having slow progress after thinking it would be the end to all their woes. They didn't massively overeat beforehand and mobility issues mean they can't really up their exercise so I assume that has an effect on progress. Still losing some though, but they've said it'll take longer to get to target than they originally thought.

I can't help thinking that initial massive losses are mostly water so if you haven't had a problem with retaining water then you won't lose that quickly. I guess it depends on how much you have to lose as well.

Did you know the average weight loss on the trials was 1/2 lb a week? You are double that and losing at a really healthy pace.

Some people on here are losing weight at almost unfathomable weights. Try not to compare yourself - their weight is likely to have been higher before, with a big change to their diet and likely now very low calories so they may be losing muscle mass too.
A body can only lose so much healthy weight at once.

Don't worry -I have had similar weight loss to you. The good thing is I can eat but not loads. Consequently, I haven't had hair loss etc. I much prefer small but consistent weight loss and keeping healthy. It has definitely really curbed my appetite as I was steadily increasing before mounjaro. Hang in there!

I think you really need to rethink your expectations here. You are definitely not losing at a ‘super slow’ rate! Your rate is pretty much perfect. Please, please do not compare yourself to anyone else as that way disappointment lies.

I’m not good with metric, but that’s over a pound a week, yes?

So what’s the problem? How much do you have to lose to get to healthy BMI? I have another 30 pounds to get to my target. I think that will take me 23-25 weeks. Similar to your rate.

I average 1.7lbs a week and don’t consider that slow at all. Since September I’ve lost 4 at. Gone from size 22 to size 14 and have a great set of legs even if they are a bit saggy at the top of my inner thighs right now.

Your expectation of what you should be losing is wrong. It took years to gain weight, you really can’t expect that you’ll lose if all in a few weeks.
