How long have you been on 2.5?

It's not magic you know. Some don't start losing till 10-15mg

Rockdaylia44 · 16/03/2025 20:16

Many people do not respond at all until higher doses. Unfortunately no way to tell if/when you will.

2.5 dosing is not meant to suppress your appetite or make you lose weight. It’s only meant to help your body adjust to the medication ready for you to move up to 5 and beyond.

With all the doses, the medication doesn’t make you lose weight. It helps you while you do the hard work.

What’s your TDEE and what’s your calorie intake been since you began taking it?

I'm having suppression for only about 2-3 days on 2.5mg but reluctant to increase as still getting upset stomach/ awful burping/ loose bowels. think I'm going to have to give up on it because it's a lot of money to waste when I can't increase the dose and current dose isn't working.

I found stomach better for suppression. Best weight loss is from eating with a calorie deficit so use a food tracking app like myfitnesspal. You need to drink lots of water too otherwise your body holds on to water. Eat more protein and less carbs. I've not eaten pasta in 5 months and pizza twice in that time.

A lot of these side effects can be linked to food. I have been ill like this twice in over 5 months, once when I ate pizza, another time red meat. Most people are affected by carbs. Best to eat clean protein and veg and drink lots of water. Eat little and often. Don't drink alcohol.

Have you amended your diet?

unsync · 16/03/2025 22:15

How many calories are you eating per day? When I started, I was on 1700, after a year and down 33 kg, I'm now on 1500. What changes are you putting in place?

Snozzlemaid · 16/03/2025 23:13

Give it time. It’s still building up in your system.

SamwiseTheBodyguard · 17/03/2025 05:47

Keep going, I was the same on 2.5mg. As soon as I started 5mg the weight loss kicked in.
Ake sure you're at least loosely tracking what you're eating to get your protein in, there are still some foods that I can overindulge on so I have to be careful that if I eat those it's portion controlled and that I've had enough protein first.

FlappingMadly · 17/03/2025 10:14

Keep going. 2.5 is the starter dose. Had you lost before you began? If so you won't have water weight to.lose. Just keep going.
