Getting a lower dose from a higher dose pen

I have just bought a 10mg pen but have decided I actually am quite happy on 7.5mg.
I know I can count clicks to use the 10mg pen to get 7.5mg but my question is, if I want to get an extra dose out in these particular circumstances (there will still be a full 10mg dose left plus the usual bonus dose) will the pen stop working as I have used it four times or will it still work because none of the doses I have taken have been full ones? In which case I would need to use a syringe to get a fifth dose.

You'll still be able to get a fifth dose without using a syringe, because the plunger will only have moved to the 'third dose' point

You shouldn't need a syringe for a 5th dose. Each part dose is 15 clicks short of the full 60 per dose. After 4 part doses you'll have 4 x 15 clicks left, which is 60 in total. Enough for another dose. There's always a few extra clicks for priming so that should be fine too.
