Tummy bug or MJ side effect?

Hi all, I'd taken my second dose of 12.5 on Friday and from Sunday-Tuesday had what can only be described as high velocity liquid diarrhoea! Friday today and I've started with diarrhoea again.

I've been taking MJ since October with zero side effects so am unsure if this is related to MJ or just a viral thing.

I'm supposed to inject today but will obviously be leaving it until my stomach settles. I can't even keep water in at the moment.

Just wondering if anyone has experienced onset of side effects at a higher dose or if I should consider speaking to GP and submitting a sample if it continues.

It could well be the Mounjaro, the level in your system will be the highest its been so far after two injections on 12.5mg.

If you are getting dehydrated and can't keep water down for much longer then I would seek some medical advice. And it is definitely sensible to delay your next injection until you're feeling better. You could also consider dropping back down to 10mg too.

Yes this makes complete sense - and good thinking to decrease the dose. So strange I've never had any side effects with previous doses, this must have been the one that tipped me over the edge!

I had something similar a couple of weeks back. It lasted 2 full on days before I decided it wasn't a bug and so felt it was ok to take immodium. Once dose stopped it in its tracks and it hasn't returned.

Still not totally sure, but I do suspect it was a random side effect.

If you are meant to take it today but already have diarrhoea, I would look at diet. Dairy, heavy carbs, fatty fried foods can cause this in some users. Today the dose would be lowest in body so its strange if you have it today before injecting. Are you taking a new protein shake or probiotic etc

ChaosDream · 07/03/2025 16:48

Nothing has changed jn my diet - if anything I've been eating less and lighter due to having the upset stomach as I've been trying to rehydrate. No new supplements or shakes. I agree that it's strange to have the scoots today given it's the day I'm due to inject.

I think I'll leave it a few days and go back down to 10mg.

@Mysticmaiden I might add in a probiotic - good shout.

@Mysticmaiden I might add in a probiotic - good shout.

I've been having ginger shots and kefir from Aldi. It's wonderful for bloating and water retention! Good luck
