Wegovy weight loss slowed at 60kg

I've been on wegovy since September and been really happy with the results, I'm down to just under 60kg (around 130lb) at 5'6 and over the last few weeks I've plateaued and weight loss has really slowed down. I'm finding it quite demoralising, I'm so close to my goal of 126lb/9 stone. Do people think your body gets to a weight where it reaches is natural minimum and holds on to weight?

I think so. I’ve been on max dose Wegovy and holding for months now - neither up nor down despite what I eat.

am thinking of really going back to high protein low carb to concentrate the mind and shift the last few lbs! X

Your BMI is healthy now so why the push to a specific weight?

wandatotherescue · 07/03/2025 07:02

@fourelementary I suppose your right, I'm getting married and just had a very specific number in my head!

@thinktwice36 I never went to the max dose because I didn't have a very drastic amount to lose so I'm still on 1.7 now

With all due respect and kindness, it’s a day. Enjoy the healthy weight you’re at now and put the focus on something worthwhile. Your weight it NOT your worth. Just stop, eat healthily, take up Pilates or something you enjoy that helps with your body and mind.

wandatotherescue · 07/03/2025 07:10

@fourelementary yes, you're right! I already do Pilates and easy healthily so I will take that as continue as you are Grin

Can I ask what dose you're on? I went up to 0.5 but had side effects so back at 0.25 but weight loss has stopped :(

I'm on 1.7 and have been for the last 3 or 4 months. I did have a lot more symptoms in the first couple of months and each time I went up a dose. I think it takes your body a while to acclimatise hormonally, because I now have no symptoms, apart from feeling slightly strange the day after injecting, so it does take a while to settle into

Congratulations on a fantastic weight loss! I am genuinely curious what company carries on prescribing at such a low BMI? Not that I am anywhere near that myself 🤣 but it is good to know as some companies cut you off at certain point.

GoldfinchesInTheTree · 07/03/2025 20:53

I think maybe chasing numbers is possibly disordered thinking now. You're healthy, you've lost weight. It's good.

I'm genuinely worried about MJ leading into disordered eating and thinking (I'm only 2 months in so quite a way from that but familiar with that world)

Honestly I'm 5ft 6 and 10stone was my happy place from about 16 - and that's firmly in the healthy bracket. Chasing less when not "naturally thin" or a thin frame etc is where madless lies.

I think aim for 9st if you want to, but don't use Wegovy to do it. Now that you've learned healthier habits, just keep active and eat well and it will probably slide off. 1-2lbs a month is still a loss.
