Is anyone taking wegovy? What has been your experience?

Hey, I started on Tuesday evening with my first dose. And other than the reduction of food noise I haven't had any other symptoms! 🙌🏻 Hope it's not a placebo haha! What week are you on!?

I’ve taken my 2nd dose this morning. I’ve been fine on it, same as you really. The food noise has gone. I’d say suppression is ok, I still get hungry but don’t feel the need to overeat, but the reduction in food noise is the main thing for me! No other symptoms 😊

I have also been feeling the hunger still which I think is a good thing. But felt 'satisfied' and been picking up more healthier options and not felt the need to go after food all the time! It's like a settled and calming feeling towards food 🥰🙌🏻

I'm taking my 5th dose today.

It's not been great to be honest (no loss of appetite and no weightloss) but I've had a flare of autoimmune condition so for 3 weeks I've been off my feet etc

** flare isn't related to Wegovy.

I hope you’re feeling better soon. I also have an autoimmune condition, take good care of yourself and rest. Have you moved up in doses in wegovy?

Thank you.

I hope your condition is currently well controlled?

I'm taking my second dose of 0.5mg before bed.

I took wegovy for a year but have now moved into Mounjaro.

boredsolicitor · 13/03/2025 20:19

Took it for about 8 months and lost 2.5 stones . No side effects . Not on it now and so far maintaining

Wegovy · 13/03/2025 22:22

I took it for the first time yesterday lunchtime. I didn’t feel hungry yesterday. I didn’t expect to feel the effects so quickly, but maybe I’m imagining it.

i hadn’t felt hungry today until this evening, when I’ve eaten about 8 fruit gums.

I've been on mounjaro since September. Swapping to wegovy first dose tomorrow hoping not many symptoms!

Ladymuck2022 · 13/03/2025 23:58

Constipation at first on the ‘starter dose’. Now on the second dose up and heading towards losing more in the last two weeks then the first month.

whether stress has played a part on 0.50ml (2nd dose) that wanted me to throw away half a cold pizza in the bin last week.

Really odd I’m losing more on the second months dose of Wegovy then 7.5 on the ‘King Kong’ of the weight loss medication (Mounjaro)

I have an optician wanting to refer me to the hospital for high eye pressure and a trust that likely doesn’t supply the weight loss injections so here goes.

Can i ask why you're moving from MJ as I'm considering moving from MJ myself to wegovy and how have you found it so far?

Hi of course you can ask no problem! I was paying for MJ privately. Before i started paying for it i was referred to the local tier 3 weight loss they said 2 year waiting list. I heard about Oviva and my GP referred me under right to choose framework. Oviva can only currently prescribe wegovy so ive swapped over as being funded on the NHS is a huge burden off!

Do you mind if I ask how long you've been maintaining for? And whether you've got any tips? Did you taper down or stop cold?

I'm just about at my planned weight and trying to decide where to go from here. I know that I don't want to be on the meds long term but very keen to make sure that the weight loss sticks!
