Not the best mounjaro morning today. Weigh in early as changed day to Saturday.

Sadly no loss this week. Don't understand how considering the struggle to eat and the effort to reach 1200 calories a day this week.

Also somehow the needle loosened when I started injected (purely human error) so built up in cap. When I put needle back on properly, liquid shot out into the kitchen. Continued to inject the rest but have no idea what I have lost mg wise.

Just hoping it's all just a blip and onwards and upwards from here.

Weight doesn't come off in neat increments weekly. If you've been struggling to reach 1200 kals you will definitely have lost some weight.. give it a couple of days and weigh again x

End of week 3 check in

Mounjaro SW - 14st 12

In an effort to try and eat 3 meals a day.. I'm going to try and have breakfast..what does everyone have for breakfast?

I've never been a morning eater, breakfast has always been a struggle since I was a kid. Pre Mounjaro I would have porridge when I got to work at 9, usually adding something like chocolate which honestly now sounds so gross to me, I can't believe I ate it.

Now with the added lack of wanting to eat due to the medication I've given up on trying to force plain porridge down and opt for either a chopped up apple or a bottle of huel (if I'm running late/forget apple) that I graze on between 9 and 10am.

I make up for it with a more substantial lunch and dinner

Ke11 · 08/03/2025 13:10

With the thread moving so quickly I lost the ppl talking about slow/no loss. I'm a daily weigher and even though I've been lucky enough to lose every week so far, my weight goes up and down through the week, it's definitely not a straight line downward. So many things affect how our weight changes day by day.

Here's my shotsy graph with daily weight at 8am, it goes up and down quite a lot.

Ive just ordered my next pen. Going for the 5mg one this time. Im planning to take the 5th dose next week. So far lost 7lbs. I maintained last weeks loss which is odd as ive been good/ate well. Frustrating but then again id rather lose slowly. Still not told anyone im doing this. I think theyre all waiting for me to give up my latest diet! 🤣

SansaClegane · 08/03/2025 14:05

Ke11 that's an interesting graph. And I totally agree - it's not linear - however it's easy to get frustrated as I think we all just want to see results!
I'm a daily weigher too, although I only record it weekly (on shot day). I get so annoyed when it just seems to stagnate for ages. But then it does suddenly drop, so yeah, we just have to be patient!

Regarding the 3 meals - I don't do breakfast. Just can't do it so early in the day. Not had it for years, so I won't change it now... I think it's ok though? I do struggle to eat enough at the moment though admittedly.

SilentRetreat · 08/03/2025 14:20

Week 4 NSV: yesterday I had two Jaffa cakes with my afternoon coffee. Just two! No desire to scoff the lot. How very civilised.

Catmum100 · 08/03/2025 14:54

I'm 3 days after my first 5mg jab and today feel quite nauseous... it's the first time I've had any nausea and it's not fun! I'm really hoping it settles as I'm a total wuss with feeling sick! Other than that, no side effects at all!

Only 1lb lost this week but I'm ok with that as I definitely went over on calories on a couple of occasions.
My bmi is now 30 exactly, so still technically obese but interesting to think that I'm close to not meeting the criteria if I were a new patient.
I used the bonus dose last week so today will be my first injection of 5mg. To date my only side effect is severe constipation. Goodness knows what 5mg will do but I'm armed with senna and bisacodyl if needed. My appetite says I'm ready for 5mg but my bowels are saying no thanks.

PerditionCatchMySoul · 08/03/2025 15:20

Jack1975 · 08/03/2025 10:14

Took my 4th jab yesterday, will be planning on extracting the golden dose next Friday and then into the 5mg which is sat in my fridge waiting. Does anyone with under active thyroid losing ok? I've lost a total of 9lbs which I'm really happy about' but only lost 3lbs of that over 2 weeks. I haven't had much suppression over the last couple of weeks but hoping that might increase when I go to 5mg

I’ve got an Underactive thyroid. I have had small losses this past month, but I think UT adds another layer of difficulty 😔

WLINewbie · 08/03/2025 16:40

Week 4, Day 1

Injected this morning, got bonus dose next week then will start the 5mg pen.
Feeling tired 😴

@incognitomummy I got these. They don’t do the body fat etc, but weighing is consistent and got the highest score from Which

Thank you!

Today's moderately intense hike started to burn sooner than I'd have expected. I think I have lower glycogen stores.

PurpleCoo · 08/03/2025 17:30

It's really strange people saying they are more tired. I feel the opposite. I feel like my energy levels are great. I am very aware of how my body feels, and the extra stone I have been carrying above my usual max weight has felt like I am constantly carrying a heavy backpack/bumbag, and I felt slowed down, like you would if you had a heavy backpack/bumbag. I am 5kg down so far, and I feel so unburdened. I feel like I have much easier movement when I walk and swim and my middle just feels so much slimmer, and I'm zipping around even faster than usual. Not quite ready to do back flips though 😂😂

I sort of feel both?

I feel better about my body, little things like I can cross my legs comfortably, my waist is back etc

But I also feel more tired.

Some people are eating really low calorie so I'm not surprised they have less energy than before...

That's an excellent point to be fair. I'm tracking not just calories, but trying to be balanced in what I eat to make sure I get my nutrients. I am eating about 13/1400 a day, so plenty I am sure for energy. I'm thinking of upping my calories as potentially losing weight too fast

Febnewbie · 08/03/2025 18:21

I have concluded our scales aren't working well - they are new so I assumed they would be. But I experimented with putting my dumbbells on them and they definitely don't read totally reliably. I also weighed myself three times in half an hour without eating or drinking anything and got weights ranging from 13 st 7 to 13 st 0..

I am going to focus on how my clothes fit instead. I am down a size so now focussing on this size being comfortable and then getting into the next size down.

Febnewbie · 08/03/2025 18:24

I am, like a PP, toying with the idea of having a nutritious breakfast like salmon and eggs, avocado etc.

Previously I have avoided breakfast as I have found it just woke up my appetite but I am often not able to eat much at all on the day or two post jab and it's impacting my ability to workout and energy levels

Hi all!
Upped to 5mg on Wednesday... oh my word. Mouth like the sahara, nausea, headache pretty much until yesterday early evening. My eyes seemed really dry too. Felt the same as I do on codeine, a bit spaced out which made it harder to work. Feeling fine now but wondering if I should drop to 3.75mg for the next dose or give 5mg one more try? I'm inclined to follow the rules and have 5mg but I didn't really have side effects at the 2.5mg dose so the sudden change really hit me!
I did need to increase because suppression was wearing off. No idea what to do lol

Following with interest because I have only hadx2 at 2.5 but not getting suppression now (week 1 was great) and food noise is back so think I will need to go up to 5 on my next order. I am too scared to mess about with the doses but wondered with those symptoms if you need to up your water even more? They sound like dehydration symptoms.. hope it settles down. If you're getting good suppression I would be tempted to try the next jab at 5 and see if the side effects settle. My first and second week on 2.5 could not have been more different - might be the same with 5?

Week 2 Results:
SW - 16.10 (16.2 when I started MJ)
CW - 15.9
Loss: 15lbs (6 since MJ)

Well, I have crawled along Hunger Highway all week and could not be more glad tonight is jab night for me! Lost 2lbs this morning on my 2nd week at 2.5 and really pleased to be under the double-figures in the 15s. But looking at my Nutricheck - calories creeping up and up and up and I feel my 'normal' hunger. I woke up the day after my 2nd jab and felt virtually no different but for the first 3-4 days was able to fairly easily stick to 1200-1350 calories - but the past 3 days I've been getting so much food noise. Really curious to see if Week 3 is better for suppression - or is it going to be another hard run.

Probablyawake · 08/03/2025 19:57

I can't wait to start 5mg but it's not until weds. I have zero suppression now. Even after taking my golden dose, which I worked out would've been just over 3mg. So it will feel like starting again! Just hoping the suppression comes back, I felt amazing the first fortnight and no food noise. I was so uninterested in food. Food noise is back now, and I want to hibernate until weds, although I may jab Tuesday evening! 😆
For those now on 5mg, how was the transition? Particularly interested if anyone had a similar experience of the 2.5mg not working it's magic for their last week or two.

I took my first 5mg jab last night and it feels like it did after my very first 2.5 doses. Feeling full very quickly and not all that interested in food. The suppression had been getting noticeably less and less as the weeks went on. I suppose your body gets used to the lower dose.

Umthisisabitawkward · 08/03/2025 20:46

I’m feeling tired too - but I’m eating about 1100-1200 calories a day (meeting my protein and fibre targets as set by nutracheck) so I wonder if that’s too little? What are other people eating? I’m 5 foot 2 and 52, female. I’m not sure what I should be aiming for.

Lola50 · 08/03/2025 20:53

@Probablyawake i had my second 5mg jab this morning. Complete suppression (and a little nausea) today. I hadn’t felt that towards the end of 2.5mg. I haven’t lost a huge amount of weight like some here, but I no longer have the relentless food noise that’s plagued me for years. That’s worth the money. If I didn’t have to weigh in every week for my provider, I wouldn’t even bother with weight lost or gained. It’s been quite amazing.
Hope you get on well with 5mg
