I’ve lost a small dog. Has anyone seen it? Next goal for this week: goodbye Kenwood stand mixer! 😂

Well first 4 weeks are up today and 12lb down. I took my golden dose this morning which will be my last at 2.5mg. Have bought my next pen at 5mg, not because I don't have good suppression but because the food noise has started to return a bit. Still haven't had a biscuit or any chocolate in the 4 weeks though - just haven't fancied them. Weirdly I have only had 2 cans of diet coke the whole time whereas previously I had one daily with my lunch.
No side effects other than I was permanently cold for the first 2 weeks, and get terrible dry mouth in the night. Having to take natural remedies daily for constipation but I never went frequently even before. Have upped my fibre intake by switching my breakfast to a large bowl of all bran and prunes (although my protein levels have dropped a little because of this so I try and incorporate a getpro yoghurt as they are only 88 calories and 15g protein).

Today is the second time this week I've got up and went to the supermarket for fresh fruit at 6.30am, I don't know what's happening to me because I've always been a 'get up at the last minute' person but now I seem to be awake and just... get up? I don't understand 😅

Tomorrow I won't have had sweets, crisps, coke or cakes for two weeks and I'm not even bothered. The only 'treat' I've been having is a dark chocolate and ginger biscuit and not even every day. I've developed a taste for cherry vine tomatoes and I hate tomatoes.

When I sit down to study for uni I don't have to fight through brain fog. When I'm at work I'm not losing track of what I was doing.

It actually is life changing isn't it? In the space of two weeks seeing how people who aren't consumed by food addiction live.

Ive lost 7lbs so far which isnt massive in the grand scheme of things but do you find it nice/odd when your jeans are getting loose and your having to keep pulling them up? I keep feeling my fat rolls, its like theyre deflating! 😂

I feel the same. I used to have an upper stomach fat roll I used to put my hand on all the time. Didn't even know that I was doing but I realise now because the fat roll has gone. 😁

Just dropping in to update on how I'm feeling after taking my first 5mg jab on Monday . On 2.5mg I seemed to have avoided feeling cold like a lot of you but my lord I'm FREEZING now . Feeling quite sick with a light headache but constipation has eased off which is a big win ! Definitely got more suppression .

Thanks for the update. I’m doing my first 5mg jab this evening. I decided to do 2.5mg from my pen first as I was worried about side effects but I’ve noticed the suppression doesn’t feel so strong now. 5mg it is tonight!!

WelshRarebit18 · 07/03/2025 11:51

Well done everyone on the losses! 🙌🏻 Here’s my end of week 5 update. I’ve been on 2.5mg for the 5 weeks.

SW: 13st
CW: 11st 9lbs

Pleased with the loss so far. Definitely feel more comfortable in my clothes and my face looks slimmer. Struggling to eat a variety of food as the slight feeling of nausea is often there and puts me off a lot of things apart from bland stuff. Still, I guess it’s having the desired effect on my waistline!

First 5mg jab tonight. Really hope I’m not sick after this one!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

SansaClegane · 07/03/2025 11:52

End of week 4 for me!

SW 210.4 lbs
CW 195.8 lbs

So that's 14.6 lbs down in the first 4 weeks. For me, I'm finally (just!) under 14st again - hoping to crack the 13st border next!
Moving onto the 5mg later today, fingers crossed the side effects will be manageable...

MatriarchCaz · 07/03/2025 12:48

I was also asked for a copy of my medical records. I am signed up with the nhs website and took pictures of them and forwarded them these, they were happy with that x

My weigh day is tomorrow but I’ve already dropped 5.5lbs this week. I know some will be water weight but Mounjaro has surprised me as I’ve not felt the same suppression as Wegovy yet it’s working the same with hardly any side effects. Wonder drug! I have consciously eaten better too.

Edited

HI PurpleFlower.

What made you switch to MJ from Wegovy? And how long were you on it for?
Cheers
X

Anyone using medexpress - did you get a discount code for your second pen? The 5mg is £150 and I've tried various codes from MN but they say you can only use them for the first pen. Did you move provider? Any advice please?

tweetypi · 07/03/2025 15:37

@alwayshavebeenfemale I moved provider - I used the monj website to search for the cheapest and went with IQ doctor. They wanted new photos and a photo of my current prescription then prescribed the 5mg.

nj32 · 07/03/2025 15:59

Due to do my fourth 2.5mg tonight, other than heartburn no side affects but no suppression either 😒 lost 2lb only because I'm trying to be more mindful.

Hangryfastjo · 07/03/2025 16:01

Has anyone taken the bonus dose/5th dose and then some from their new 5mg pen to make it a 5mg dose? Reading the positive things on here about 5mg makes me want to move up, but don't want to waste the 5th dose, or am I just arsing around with it too much 🧐🤔

Well done on your loss. I don't think a lot of people realise that suppression isn't the only way that this drug works. It changes how your body produces insulin to breakdown glucose. It also makes you feel fuller quicker and slows down digestion so you feeling hunger is perfectly normal.
2.5mg is also not a full dose, just helps to get your body used to it. Keep going, you've got this 💯

They’ll price match but I wouldn’t bother with them at the moment unless you don’t need a pen soon? I had mine prescribed on Tuesday and they’re not dispatching it until next week.

WLINewbie · 07/03/2025 17:11

The 5mg pen I ordered on Wednesday from medexpress is being delivered tomorrow. Slower than last one but OK. I need to remember to take a photo of the box this time so I can change providers if I want.

Chrestomanciscat · 07/03/2025 18:17

@alwayshavebeenfemale i dud sane as tweetypi and went with IQ dr using the cide fron the site. Sent in photos of my previous prescription, passport, weight and height photos and it was here in two days. I had used oushk for my first pen and tho their customer service was really good they didnt despatch for nearly a week.

Chrestomanciscat · 07/03/2025 18:21

@Hangryfastjo i plan to use the extra dose and then top up to 3.75 or 5mg with the new pen. It seems a shame to waste money. I've bought the insulin syringes to do it. There's a really useful video by a Scottish bloke which shows exactly what to do and huw to calculate the dose. Think it was on here. Ill try and find it

MissionToSize10 · 07/03/2025 18:55

Suddenly dawned on me today that my powdered collagen im taking has 9g protein per scoop. Logging it from now on with my app. I didnt even consider it!

sc0ttishlass · 07/03/2025 20:10

Evening all! Had first side effect i would say today. So, I had my gallbladder out during covid. Long story short i have a blood disorder that means also likely to need gallbladder out and so I did. Never had pain like it in the years/months leading up to it. After it came out pain free.
Today I had a similar pain again. I was driving and it was horrific. I did some deep breathing and after about half an hour it went away. Yesterday I probably didn't eat enough. I had such a panic. I've lost 17lb and mid way through 5th dose so I know it's a lot quickly. I really panicked that I'd caused myself some serious illnesss 🤒 feel ok now but it's made me mindful about eating enough as much i want to lose fast it can cause other stuff to go wrong, can't it? X

Thisshirtisonfire · 07/03/2025 20:20

Posted on thread 1 by accident!
Only just took my first 2.5 injection this eve due to delays receiving my pen i ordered beginning of Feb.
Feeling nervous!
Starting weight 16st 7lbs
Goal weight 11 st
Tried to eat lightly and healthily all day to try and avoid any side effects from the first dose.
Am using nutricheck to count calories and track protein and steps.

Chrestomanciscat · 07/03/2025 20:46

Hi @sc0ttishlass that sounds scary and i imagine it would have bought back alot of horrible memories. Is it worth going to the drs just to put your mind at rest? Xx

0987654321q · 07/03/2025 21:07

It's nice to see improvements in the mirror isn't it? I can see my hips are slightly smaller.
