Mounjaro - dizziness

Hi,

I am on week 1, day 6 of my first injection 2.5. All good, had good suppression and no symptoms until the past couple of days!

i’ve been feeling dizzy and lightheaded for the past couple of days kind of like I’m drunk. It is better when I’m not working as I work at a computer. I’ve been taking an electrolyte today to see if this helps and I’ve also tried a energy tablet to see whether I can boost my sugar in case it’s that.

I guess my question is I’ve read it is a normal side-effect when your body is adjusted to the medication. Has anyone else found this better or is this something where my body isn’t taking it? Well and I need to stop any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you

Are you eating and drinking enough?

PrincessPeache · 27/02/2025 10:37

I had this when I started and it didn’t get better. It got worse at Christmas and I stopped taking it; I’m now being investigated for POTS. It’s looking very likely though that the POTS was already there before mounjaro so I’m hesitant to say it caused it, but it certainly brought it to light.

Liam2018 · 27/02/2025 10:55

@Squeakpopcorn I am having around 1400-1600 a day, granted the first few days was on the lower side cause I was getting used to the suppression!

@PrincessPeache I’m sorry to hear this! I think I’ll keep going with the 4 weeks in hops it stops! If it doesn’t, then maybe I shouldn’t carry on! But I don’t want to quit on a tiny side effect that could go away, you know what I mean?

Make sure you’re getting plenty of electrolytes - I use the vid rate sachets and they’re really good!

Squeakpopcorn · 27/02/2025 11:20

Are you drinking at least 3 litres of water a day?

Justme2023123 · 27/02/2025 11:25

Are you dizzy all the time, @Liam2018 or just when you stand up? I've been on it since August and still get lightheaded when I stand up after sitting for a while. No dizziness the rest of the time tho.

Liam2018 · 27/02/2025 11:27

Dizzy ish all the time, like a drunk feeling.

had an electrolyte this morning and so far today I feel better than I did yesterday, I’m drinking atleast 2-3litres per day but maybe mounjaro can just make us more dehydrated?

@PrincessPeache I had one this morning and I actually feel better now, thank God hopefully it stays like this

It never occurred to me that although I’m drinking 2 to 3 L a day I’m constantly peeing so it ain’t staying in me

I was getting dizzy spells and my blood pressure went from 145/92 to 107/72. Are you taking any BP medication? I was taking ashwagandha, which also lowers BP, I stopped it straight away and not had them or any other side effects since, now nearly 5 months on mounjaro. Also try to eat regularly, if you're fasting it may be a low blood sugar issue.

Dunkou · 28/02/2025 06:38

I get dizzy on the day after the jab. I took a blood sugar reading last time it happened and it was fine, so I'm assuming low blood pressure. I already had fairly low blood pressure so I guess MJ is lowering it further.

I take electrolytes, eat little and often, make sure I drink enough. I've also kept my dose very low at 1.25mg (I'm 8 weeks in) though I know that's not sustainable for a lot of people.

Liam2018 · 28/02/2025 21:25

so I’ve been to the doctors, my blood pressure sitting and standing was perfect and my blood sugars were 4.5.

im really not sure why I am feeling this way but it’s day 3 and I’ve felt so bad today! I’m definitely eating and drinking enough.

ibe made the decision to stop, as it’s so hard to feel this way when I have a toddler! I feel so unwell and I’m praying that now I’ve stopped taking it it goes away, just want to feel like my normal self
