Hi everyone! I wanted to use this thread to discuss what everyones strategy is for the upcoming holy month and also as the month progresses we can discuss how we're feeling and what is working for us.

Im on 5mg and i think i need to go up but dont want to risk side effects whilst fasting. So will stay put.

Will need to manage iftar with healthier options and avoid the fried foods which we try and usually do anyway. I think keeping myself hydrated will be the biggest issue.

On a Facebook group that I follow, a member is going to not use it for the month

That is sensible. Fasting on Mj means your caloric intake will be way below your needs as there is usually a lot of food consumed after sundown which on Mj you just won't be able to consume. I took a week's break over Christmas for a similar reason, I wanted to enjoy the food and also not have any digestive issues due to richer/fancier food.

I think if you are only on a lower dose this might make sense. If you are on a higher dose then you would likely have to start at the beginning again after the month is over so not ideal.

I found that fasting is easier on MJ without the cravings. I would aim to eat light but nutrition meals when you are allowed and see how you feel.

I think where problems may arise is that I found my blood sugar was lower while on mj. That combined with fasting meant that I could feel light headed more then usual during fasting. If this becomes a problem then I would absolutely skip doses. An alternative would be to drop the dose down for those weeks rather then stop completely.

Thats really helpful to know. As i already feel the 5mg dose I'm on is no longer sufficient i think its probably just right to get me through the month. I can eat comfortably on it now and I still get hungry. If i do find I'm not coping then will stop.

I want to avoid over eating unhealthy food when i break fast and am planning on sticking with healthy meals. Lets see if i can stick to that!!! Nothing better than a fried samosa, pakora and spring roll after a long day of fasting!!

I'm on 2.5mg since December. Decided not to go up to 5 mg as I'm losing 2lb a week on average and iv made changed to my diet and mindset and can easily be in a calorie deficit. I have 2/3 doses left of my 2.5mg pen. So I'm going to finish the doses and get another pen after ramadhan. Most likely stick to 2.5mg again. I don't mind food but it's the water intake for me. However. The fasts aren't that long (eg not like the summer fasts!) so should be ok. I will be drinking electrolytes either sehri or iftar and plenty water

I fast for 18 hours every day and have done for a couple of years. I've been taking Mounjaro since July last year and haven't had any problems, or episodes of low blood glucose. I concentrate on getting 100g protein, as many different plants as possible and at least 4 servings of fermented food within the 6 hours that I eat.
Could you work out how much you need to eat in a day, divide it into two meals, one after sunset and one before dawn and still manage to eat healthily during Ramadam?
