Increased heart rate

I've noticed today that my resting heart rate has increased in the short time I've been taking mounjaro. It's normally around 77-79, I took the first injection on Saturday and average resting heart rate went up to 81 on Sunday where it's been until today, when it's went up to 84.

Has anyone else had this? I've searched up about it and it seems to only be a concern if you have a pre-existing heart condition.

Resting heartrate according to my Garmin was 48/50 before MJ. I've been on MJ for 7 months now and my resting heartrate is now 56/57. It's quite a jump, but thankfully was quite low before so I don't think it's a problem. (I do cardio workouts daily and have done for most of my adult life 25+ years)

Yes, mine has been 53-54 for the past year and now it is 60.

Have you checked your blood pressure? It has probably decreased with an increased heart rate.

It's pretty common when you start, but it does go down in time

Maybe this is how we lose weight, Mounjaro tricks the body into thinking a normal casual walk is a strenuous hike and you burn the requisite calories 😅

How are you measuring your HR? Mine has increased similarly to about 84 according to my Samsung Galaxy Watch. However, when using a blood pressure monitor, it was actually 79. (I did a simultaneous comparison.)

Apparently, it is a known issue.

As MJ affects metabolism, it is reasonable to assume that heart rate will also be affected as the two are linked.

FatGirlLosing · 27/02/2025 15:15

Yes, I have the same issue. It’s gone from 48-52bpm on an average night to being between 58-62bpm. It does make a difference if I try and eat before 7pm. It is impacting my sleep quality though.

Yes, mines gone from 62-71, the trend on my health app make it really obvious when I started mounjaro.
