So my first order will be here in a few days. I've tried to read up as much as I can.

Best day to start? still not sure - do you feel tired same day or usually day after?
What is the main thing in your diet which has helped with side effects and to achieve best outcome?😊

I'd choose a day where you will have time to do the injection each week, so you won't have to change the day. I don't ever feel tired after each injection, it's not a given at all, and you won't be able to predict how you respond to it. For me, I had lots of appetite suppression fairly quickly after injecting in the morning. The medication takes around 8 to 72 hours to reach a peak in your system. I inject on a Friday morning so that I have the peak suppression over the weekend.

I had already changed my diet the week before to exclude any sugary, fatty, processed white carb type foods and no snacking. I find that Mounjaro changes what I prefer to eat, which is now a focus on protein and veg, I never really want to eat carbs and fatty food is a real turn off for me along with sweet things. I have no idea if that affects whether or not I get side effects. I've only had two instances of gastric side effects, which I think was more related to the dose levels rather than what I ate. I've not had any real side effects now for several months.

Hi @ForBrickSnake I'm starting too, just waiting for my prescription to be dispatched. I have the same questions, so glad to ave the Mumsnetters to guide me, it feels a little scary.....

Yes it is a bit unnerving. Remember the reasons for doing it. I wrote a pro & con list. The pro of using it outweighed cons massively. Good luck 👍

I never felt tired at all - 16 weeks in so far.

I eat good clean food mostly and stay away from very fatty/spicy stuff

Drink lots of water, eat more protein 0.8g per kg body weight and lower carbs, work out your calorie deficit on a TDEE calculator website and try to stick with it. Mounjaro dehydrates and some serious side effects like kidney disease and pancreatitis are caused by severe dehydration. I'm always tired before and after MJ due to chronic anaemia and working and commuting 12hrs a day 5 days a week! Take vitamins as when you are eating less, it will be important to get them all in

I inject on a Friday just incase of any side effects.
