Has anyone done this? I'd be interested to know how it went.
I'm about 2 weeks away from having to fly to Canada (work trip) which will span my usual injection day. My cunning plan to put the pen and needles in my checked luggage seems to be inadvisable due to a risk of the pen freezing during the flight - I'm a bit skeptical about this but not sure I want to take the risk.
The advice is to include it in carry on luggage and then declare it at security. I'm told I should have a copy of the prescription from my GP and the pen should be in it's original packing. If the security team are persuaded it's all legit I'll be allowed to carry it on.
Obviously my GP will have now't to do with this. I've got a letter from MedExpress confirming the prescription although quite honestly I could have created it myself in Word - there's no actual signature on it. I also can show copies of the letters sent by MedExpress to my GP saying they've prescribed, but I've no idea if this is something they encounter several times a day, or they will look utterly baffled. The pen I'm taking will still have 2 injections in it, so I'm keen not to lose them or have any disruption to my regime.
If anyone has done this I'd really love to know what happened, good or bad.
Many thanks in advance.
