Splitting dose over two days.

Just wondering if anyone has split the dose they are on over two days to avoid side effects?
I have a 5mg pen and injected 3.75 the first week and had a few side effects but not too bad. Last week, I injected the full dose of 5mg and had bad side effects (diarrhoea and vomiting) on the first night but fine the rest of the week. Yesterday, I went back down to 3.75 and have had no problems so far… Wondering if I could then inject the remaining 1.25 today (5mg again this week).

Why not just stick with 3.75mg for now? Many people don't go straight to 5mg, and if your dose is working, you could stay on it for 4 weeks (or longer) before moving up to 5mg.

Yes you can, especially if suppression is wearing off. I've done this to top up a part dose or to bridge a higher one

Thank you! Suppression is waning a bit this time.

I would try to find the dose the suits you best on the 7 day schedule - the right balance of suppression and least side effects even if that means a bit of willpower towards the end of the week.

If you take 3.75mg the concentration of that in your body will increase each week for 4 weeks, you never gave 3.75mg a chance to see if it suited you. You need to be patient when changing doses.

Also speak to your pharmacy about managing the side effects while your body gets used to the new dose.

I would do that before getting yourself into a complicated multiple dosing schedule of different doses where it will become unclear how much of the medication is in your body, noone knowing if there are any risks of extra stress on your liver/kidneys processing multiple doses a week, and not having a clear path of what to do next time you need to increase.
